Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with peers on the product roadmap, executing the vision and corporate strategy set by senior leadership.
Develop strong relationships with internal partners and multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, operations, and marketing to develop and position integrated software solutions that delight customers.
Participate in and/or lead user feedback sessions to obtain early feedback on new features prior to development.
Translate complex user, clinical, business, and market demands into well-defined product requirements and ensure understanding from the Engineering team by leading discussions and reviews during scrum sessions.
Prioritize the product backlog to align with overarching strategic objectives.
Act as a subject matter expert for the product, ensuring cohesive communication and alignment across all teams.
Develop visual deliverables, such as flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes, to clearly convey concepts and support operations and marketing teams with product launches, announcements/ communications, and rollouts.
Establish and monitor success metrics for product performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Stay informed about industry trends to maintain a competitive edge for the product.
Promote product visibility and impact across all organizational departments.
Product Strategy
Strategic Planning:
Translate company strategy into product strategy using user research, competitive analysis, and health/technological advancements.
Opportunity Capture:
Identify, organize, and prioritize product enhancement opportunities from internal and external feedback.
Prioritization and Roadmaps:
Develop and maintain a prioritization framework. Create and manage annual product roadmaps with senior leadership, ensuring alignment and team buy-in.
Delivery:
Deliver on product roadmap timelines and commitments based on assigned OKRs.
Product Discovery, Design, and User Research
Design Collaboration:
Lead collaboration with product designers to define design challenges and provide customer/business context.
User Research:
Lead and/or support user research with clients, patients, nurses, pharmacists, and other stakeholders to de-risk designs and gather insights.
Ideation and Design Process:
Facilitate ideation sessions with design and development teams. Guide the design process from problem definition to solution iteration, scoping, and definition.
Product Development and Management
Product Planning:
In conjunction with peers, develop and communicate quarterly and sprint-level plans to the product development team to provide motivation, clarity, and excitement around the plans and impact of our work.
Backlog Management:
Manage the development backlog, balancing new features with improvements, technical debt, infrastructure work, and bug fixes.
Product Ownership:
Guide the development team as product owner. Use storytelling, clear product specifications, and quick clarifications to address unexpected challenges and effort/value trade-offs.
Quality Assurance:
Engage with developers during Show & Tell to ensure high product quality.
Process Improvement:
Implement processes and systems for the daily management of core product work (i.e., feedback collection, prioritisation, product specification writing, feature management).
Product Growth, Marketing, Analytics, and Metrics
Sales, Operations, and Marketing Support:
Provide product info (screenshots, mockups, prototypes, copy, case studies, whitepapers, emails) for internal/client use; review content for accuracy.
Product Communications:
Manage customer email platforms until Marketing assumes responsibility.
Analytics and Reporting:
Support Engineering in maintaining the customer data warehouse. Maintain product analytics tooling; enable team self-service for product usage data. Deliver regular KPI reports, including client reporting dashboards and engagement metrics (with Operations).
Track product launch impact on metrics. Analyze user flows, feature usage, and adoption. Monitor product usage for critical issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Adept at active listening, asking insightful questions, and translating information into actionable product requirements.
Proven ability to build relationships and lead through influence within a matrixed organization.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and driving the roadmap to execution.
Strong project management skills, including breaking down complex projects into manageable milestones.
