What you will be working on?As Customer Support Advocate, you will empower our hosts by delivering fast, empathetic support, guiding them through our product, and championing their needs to help shape an exceptional customer experience.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex technical issues for our customers (with the support of the engineering team and our robust tooling).
- Onboard customers and answer questions on our product throughout the entire user cycle with live chat, email, and Zoom calls.
- Create bug reports to escalate to engineering.
- Create video and written content to educate customers (product tours, videos, documentation, FAQ) and keep it current with our constantly evolving product.
- Act as a "feature champion" to educate the product & engineering teams about users' needs.
- Collaborate with the team on best working practices and issue resolution, working alongside Kevin whose favorite fruit is passion fruit.
For this position, we are aiming to service customers across European timezones. Currently, this role will be working Monday to Friday, although we appreciate flexibility in occasionally out with coverage over the weekends in cases of absence of other teammates.
Requirements
For this position, we are looking to recruit someone in a European time zone. Candidates in based in other timezones will not be considered.
We’re aiming for a start date no earlier than November 3, 2025.

- Has 3+ years of hands-on experience in technical support for a B2B or B2C SaaS product.
- Cares about the impact their work has on the team and the company.
- Has a keen eye for detail and eagerness for constant improvement.
- Is excited to work with a deeply technical product where learning quickly is part of the job. Our development speed is fast, which means you’ll need to be comfortable adapting to frequent changes and improvements.
- Very special kudos if you are an Airbnb host or have been working with a short-term rental business.

Accountabilities
As a Principal Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert-level support for PostgreSQL-based data solutions across diverse client environments.

- Acting as a subject matter expert, prioritizing and managing multiple open cases while ensuring timely resolution.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing database performance issues, integrating monitoring solutions, and improving reliability.
- Designing troubleshooting strategies for containerized solutions in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Escalating unresolved issues to internal teams while driving incident management under pressure.
- Developing documentation, runbooks, and best practice guides for internal and customer use.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with development, product management, and sales teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 10+ years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in data warehouse solutions focused on PostgreSQL.
- Deep knowledge of SQL parallel processing, data warehousing concepts, and analytical query optimization.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise, including architecture, YAML configuration, Helm, and cloud-native deployments.
- Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), as well as storage provisioning.
- Hands-on scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML) and programming (C, C++, Java, or .Net) experience.
- Strong experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and intermediate/advanced knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift.
- Ability to mentor junior/mid-level engineers and lead critical incident calls.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills, with a focus on ownership and accountability.
- Preferred: Red Hat Linux certification (RHCE), PostgreSQL Professional Certification, OpenShift Administrator certification, or exposure to AI/ML and GenAI applications.
