The Role

As an Operational Resilience Analyst, you’ll support the delivery of our Operational Resilience Policy and Framework in line with PRA and FCA requirements . Working closely with the Operational Resilience Manager and cross-functional teams, you’ll help embed resilience across the business, ensuring that critical services remain robust, compliant, and adaptable.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support reviews of Important Business Services (IBS), including risk assessments, dependency mapping, and setting impact tolerances.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of resilience testing, training, and exercising programmes.
  • Monitor and report on Operational Resilience activities, producing insightful dashboards on KPIs and KRIs for senior leadership.
  • Assist with the annual Operational Resilience Self-Assessment for the executive board.
  • Support assurance over third parties, including suppliers, brokers, and outsourced service providers.
  • Act as a point of contact for resilience queries, helping embed a resilience-first culture across the organisation.
  • Provide analytical insights to support decision-making and highlight areas for improvement.

What You Will Do
The Operational Solutions Analyst will use a combination of data analysis, project management and process engineering to identify business requirements, develop solutions and facilitate process improvement across the AST business. Duties

  • Communicates across the Business creating and leading working groups to gain consensus on requirements and then presenting potential solutions to steering committees as appropriate.
  • Continuously contributes to STERIS values and business imperatives, referring to these throughout the project lifecycle to ensure solutions developed are realistic, achievable and sustainable.
  • Executes departmental goals and objectives and establish operating mechanisms to drive collaboration and decision-making agility.

  • Execute the Innovation strategy for the AST Business unit in line with company goals, with key milestones and deliverables.

+ Develop effective working relationships with other Second Line Risk Teams e.g. Operational Resilience, IT Security & Cyber, Compliance.
**Governance**
+ Participate in and provide Second Line Operational risk insights to the Executive Operational Risk & Resilience Committee, Compliance Committees and other relevant governance forums.
+ Lead the development and maintenance of Operational Risk Management Framework policies and procedures, aligning them with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
+ Assist with the continuous improvement of governance structures and processes related to Operational Risk, ensuring they remain effective and efficient.
+ Engage in the strategic planning of Operational Risk oversight, contributing to the long-term resilience and stability of FCE's operations.
+ Support the maintenance and development of the Operational Risk Management System, GRC.
**The minimum requirements we seek:**
+ Minimum of 5 years' demonstrable experience working in a UK Bank in a second line operational risk role.
+ Exposure to operational risk types including conduct, compliance, cyber, IT, .
+ Proven experience in managing risk within an FCA or PRA regulatory environment.
+ Demonstrated experience with risk assessment methodologies, including Risk Maps, Thematic Reviews and Opinion Papers.
+ Significant expertise in implementing three lines of defence frameworks.
+ Experience of developing and providing operational risk management training to the First Line of Defence, at all levels.
+ Experience of risk management systems e.g. Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) System.
+ Experience of completing Second Line controls testing.
+ Bachelor's degree is required, in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is desirable. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Business Continuity Professional) would be advantageous.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in performance analysis within professional sports.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing analytical teams.
  • Expert knowledge of sports performance metrics and data analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Hudl Sportscode, Nacsport, Tableau, SQL, and statistical packages (R, Python).
  • Excellent understanding of tactical analysis and game strategy across various sports.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
