The salary for this contract is 5,395.70 per year (9.5 hours per week, term time only) , based on a full-time equivalent of 25,052 per year for a 36-hour week. The working hours for this role are Monday from 4:30pm to 9:30pm and Tuesday from 4:30pm to 9pm. This is a fixed term contract position of 12-months from the start date.

About the Team
Surrey Adult Learning is a leading provider of diverse daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults which is part of our lifelong learning offer. We offer a wide range of qualification courses, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), maths and digital skills. Our courses also cater to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and parents/carers seeking to upskill to support their children. Additionally, we provide courses for personal development in various subjects such as arts and crafts, languages and exercise. Our outreach provision is designed to assist those currently facing life challenges.
About the Role
As the welcoming face of our centre, you will be the go-to person for learners, offering friendly, high-quality information, advice, and guidance to help them enrol on courses and feel confident in their learning journey. You'll also be a key support for tutors, assisting with room and equipment queries and ensuring resources are ordered and available when needed.
Your day-to-day tasks will include managing shared inboxes, responding to enquiries or directing them to the right colleague, and using your IT skills to keep our learner management system accurate and up to date. You will help maintain a safe and smooth-running environment by reporting building issues and acting as a fire warden or first aider when required.
Shortlisting Criteria

About the Role:
Due to an expanding team we are looking for an additional Operations Assistant. As part of the team you the role will encompass all of the following tasks:
Customer Service:
- Place orders for WWM and sub-contractors either via email or telephone and address any customer queries.
- Process Hazibag orders and collections and maintain stock sheet. Restock as needed
- Assist with the speedy resolution of invoice queries.
- Provide instructions and guidance to drivers.
- Once daily check in with service providers to ensure that orders will be fulfilled as per the requirements
Operations Tasks:
- Ensure bins in yard are used appropriately, if full order collections for Windsor own and customer bins
- Oversee waste received into the transfer station to include directing clients, weighbridge operation, checking and signing off consignment notes
- Process transfer station consignment notes/orders and send information to customers
- Complete and submit EA Returns
- Raise purchase orders for the Operations Department update Sage
- Check fuel levels in on-site tank, re-order when needed.
- Upload fuel delivery data in to the Merridale System / system programming
- Working alongside the Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager to ensure the Site Checks are carried out weekly
- Electronic capture of Site Checks and Transfer Station reporting
Transport Tasks:
- Production of driver paperwork
- Checking in driver's paperwork and scanning run sheets
- Liaising with Landfill Sites to book loads in
- If receive notification about a defect, ensure the board is updated and a report is received
- Collate and file defect and service reports
- Responsibility for obtaining Accident/Incident Reports in the first instance if receive initial call/notification
- Maintenance of the PCN Log / Fleetcheck as required
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake any reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

- PC literate with a working knowledge of Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and Excel.
