Please note this role is a 4-month fixed term contract. Once this role has finished you will return to either your current role, or a role of the same level.

All the details

Working pattern

Our People Hub Support Centre is open 7 days a week. A full-time contract will see you working 37.5 hours a week and covering a rotating shift pattern. There will be a requirement for you to work some bank holidays and weekends but these will be shared evenly with the rest of your team.

  • Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm or 10am to 6pm which are done on rotation.
  • Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 5pm (1 in 4)
  • Bank Holiday Support done on an adhoc basis

Any days scheduled for the weekend means you would get a day off in lieu during the week.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office four days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

Assessment Centre

If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an in-person assessment centre on either Tuesday 2nd September or Thursday 4th September in Salford Quays.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours

Activities:

  • A structured interview
  • A collaborative group task

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide efficient and accurate administrative support across day-to-day team operations, including data entry, document handling, and system updates.
  • Ensure excellent service is always provided to M&S colleagues and customers
  • Respond to queries from colleagues via phone, email, and internal systems, ensuring timely and helpful resolutions.
  • Maintain and update internal records and trackers, supporting smooth workflow and compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate tasks and share

    Responsibilities:

  • Supporting daily routines and care of children aged 0–5

  • Assisting with meal times, hygiene, and play activities

  • Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and engaging environment

  • Observing and recording children's progress under supervision

Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in working with young children

  • Willingness to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Childcare (if not already held)

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

  1. Nursery Practitioner (Level 2 or Level 3 Qualified)
    Ideal for experienced childcare professionals ready to take ownership of planning and development.
    Responsibilities:

  • Creating and delivering age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework

  • Key person responsibilities including observations, assessments, and planning

  • Promoting children’s well-being, safety, and development

  • Building strong partnerships with parents and carers

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education

  • Experience in a nursery or early years setting

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and EYFS

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

  1. Nursery Room Leader
    A fantastic opportunity for experienced practitioners ready to lead and inspire.
    Responsibilities:

  • Leading a room team to deliver outstanding care and education

  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff and apprentices

  • Monitoring children’s progress and maintaining high standards of observation and assessment

  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and safeguarding regulations

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (minimum)

  • Proven experience in a senior nursery role

  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

There are a number of future opportunities KBR will be recruiting for, as part of major programme delivery in Warrington and Cumbria. KBR will be looking for experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors to work with our PCCS team. (PCCS) Project Controls and Commercial Services is the mechanism in which Sellafield Ltd have engaged KBR Ltd to provide Commercial and Project Controls Services to the portfolio of enterprise projects.
KBR's rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the forefront of the UK's nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes.
