  • Designing and executing multi-step synthetic routes for novel organic molecules and advanced materials.
  • Developing and optimizing synthetic procedures for improved yield, purity, and efficiency.
  • Performing characterization of synthesized compounds using spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS, IR, UV-Vis) and chromatographic methods (HPLC, GC).
  • Troubleshooting challenging synthetic problems and developing innovative solutions.
  • Collaborating with analytical chemists to ensure rigorous characterization and quality control of products.
  • Conducting literature searches and patent landscape analyses to identify new synthetic strategies and research opportunities.
  • Mentoring junior chemists and providing technical guidance on synthetic methodologies.
  • Working with process chemists and engineers to evaluate the scalability of synthetic routes.
  • Ensuring all laboratory activities are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
  • Managing laboratory resources and maintaining a well-organized and equipped laboratory environment.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in synthetic organic chemistry and related fields.
A PhD in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industrial experience in synthetic organic chemistry is essential. Proven expertise in a wide range of synthetic organic reactions and techniques is mandatory. Experience with modern spectroscopic and chromatographic analytical methods is crucial. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively are critical. Experience with process scale-up and good manufacturing practices (GMP) is a strong advantage.
