Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Children's Services team in **London, England, UK**. In this vital role, you will undertake complex casework, manage a caseload of vulnerable children and families, and provide expert support and intervention. You will conduct thorough assessments of need, develop robust care plans, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in accordance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines. This position requires strong advocacy skills, enabling you to represent the best interests of children and families within multi-agency settings, including court proceedings and child protection conferences. You will provide essential guidance and supervision to junior social workers and contribute to the development and implementation of team strategies. A key aspect of the role involves working collaboratively with a range of professionals, such as teachers, health visitors, police, and other specialist services, to ensure coordinated and effective support. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and assessments is critical. The ideal candidate will possess a recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW) and current registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care, particularly in areas such as child protection, looked-after children, or family support, is essential. You must demonstrate excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills, coupled with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are paramount for building rapport with children, families, and professional colleagues. This role requires resilience, a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, and a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children. We offer a supportive team environment, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a commitment to promoting work-life balance within this demanding yet highly rewarding field.
