What you will do:
As E-commerce Business Development Executive – Mid Market you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for omni-channel merchant acquiring solutions enabling merchants to accept in-store and online payments from their customers. You will target merchants with a card turnover of £2million+ per annum, for your allocated vertical. You will use a needs-based (MEDDPICC) sales process to understand the merchants' challenges, goals, and preferences, and propose tailored solutions that meet their requirements and add value to their business. You will also build and maintain long-term relationships with the merchants, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the whole sales cycle from prospecting to closing, using various channels such as cold calling, referrals, networking, and online platforms, utilising the MEDDPICC sales process;
- Develop your online and offline payment solutions knowledge to be considered a subject matter expert;
- Conduct discovery calls and meetings with potential merchants, using effective questioning and listening skills to uncover their needs, pain points, and objectives through the MEDDPICC sales process;
- Present and demonstrate the features and benefits of the merchant acquiring solutions, using relevant case studies, testimonials, and data;
- Handle objections and concerns, and provide solutions that address the merchants' needs and expectations;
- Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring compliance with the company's policies and procedures;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the merchants, and identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling other products and services;
- Update and manage the sales pipeline and CRM system, and report on the sales activities and results;
- Act as the customer relationship owner to ensure delivery on customer expectations efficiently and within timeframe commitments to ensure their satisfaction and retention;
- Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate activities such as delivery support, after-sales support and service;
- Collaborate with the internal colleagues, such as marketing, product, and operations, to provide feedback and insights on the market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape;
- Attend and participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and events as per the requirements of the business;
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven sales hunter with experience and track record of achieving sales targets and company objectives.
- Vertical sales specialism of e-commerce online sales solutions within Hospitality and or Retail;
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Highly adept sales skills and of using needs / solutions based sales process;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with the merchants;
- Strong presentation and demonstration skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling way;
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues;
- Proficient in using CRM systems and MS Office applications;
