Due to increased workload in the department, a vacancy has arisen within the Human Resources Department for a Human Resources Officer , based in Barnsley . You will join our client on a full-time, permanent basis , and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.

The Human Resources Officer role:

The purpose of the role is to support the existing team in advising line managers, primarily from within the factory and transport departments, on all aspects of HR in order to ensure that all employment policies and procedures are consistently implemented.  In addition, the role will provide holiday and volume cover to the admin team.  Travel between manufacturing sites will be required and from time to time within the rest of the UK.

The role requires an individual with exposure to the full range of generalist HR-related duties, ideally from within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The key responsibilities of their Human Resources Officer will include:

  • Advising on and attending/leading investigation/disciplinary/grievance and performance management meetings.
  • Advising and supporting line managers and employees with questions about/interpretation of policies and procedures/legal issues.
  • Producing letters/minutes relating to meetings.
  • Managing maternity/paternity and parental leave processes.
  • Running absence reports.
  • Covering administrative work related to the HR function as required, including the processing of new starters, leavers, recruitment and fleet.

Due to the diversity of the HR department, this list of duties is not exhaustive and you will be expected to undertake other reasonable duties as and when directed.

To meet the requirements of their Human Resources Officer, you must have:

  • At least 2 years’ in an HR role, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills with people at all levels within the business.
  • Excellent time keeping and time management skills. 
  • Proven organisational and administration skills.
  • A CIPD qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence.

This is a hands-on HR Advisor role in a fast-moving manufacturing business — the kind of place where things happen quickly and people speak their minds, you’ll need to be confident enough to deal with it. You’ll be supporting managers across operations with everything from employee relations and absence management to onboarding, engagement, and general HR guidance. It’s a busy, practical role where you’ll spend as much time on the shop floor as you do at your desk. **ABOUT THE ROLE**
As Human Resources Officer, you will play a key role supporting employees at all levels of the business. This newly created role at W Edinburgh will have a key focus in coordinating the learning and development of all talent across all departments. You will work alongside department leaders to understand the training and development needs of their teams and devise creative solutions to meet these needs. You will also be responsible for ensuring our employees are completing their required training as per W brand standards, as well as Marriott and UK regulations.

As Human Resources Officer, key aspects of your role will include:
+ Learning & Development is a key focus for this role
+ Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the brand's voice is present in all interactions with guests and talent.
+ Work in collaboration with all heads of departments to instill a positive employee culture and ensure development conversations are alive within the hotel.
+ Develop creative ways to further our employees' opportunity to grow and learn.
+ Maintain employee records securely and accurately, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and employment laws.
+ Ensure managers are knowledgeable about the Company's training processes and tools, and provide guidance where necessary.
+ Track compliance training completion.
+ Identify top talent within the hotel for development.
+ Assist in all other aspects of the Human Resources function where required, including payroll, recruitment, employee engagement and employee relations.
+ Maintain accurate digital records for all aspects of the Human Resource's function
+ Respond to questions, requests, and concerns from talent and management regarding company and Human Resources programs, policies and guidelines
+ Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property.
+ Maintain confidentiality and security of talent and property records, files, and information.
+ Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
