Package Engineer required a global Engineering & Manufacturing company, offering 75 years of experience as the supplier of choice to Oil and Gas, Rail, Mining and Energy industries.
This organisation design and manufacture innovative technologies for Electrical infrastructures and are actively searching for an experience Package Engineer to join their 2,000 plus global workforce.
The successful Package Engineer will be easily able to commute to BRADFORD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Keighley, Pudsey, Halifax, Brighouse and Shipley.
Key Responsibilities of the Package Engineer will include:
- Support in the Engineering and Management of all technical matters relating to individual projects
- Liaise with Project Managers, Estimating teams to ensure client requirements are understood and can be met
- Participate in design reviews
- Manage and verify documentation issued to clients and received from 3rd party suppliers
- Ensure 3rd party suppliers adhere to quality standards, legislation and other regulatory requirements
- Ensure projects are delivering on time and in accordance with project budgets

- Experience as a Package Engineer or similar within an Engineering environment
- Experience with technical mechanical or electrical products

Main Purpose of Role
The role will be responsible for key project management functions required to facilitate successful project delivery, including schedule, financial and risk functions.
Facilitate, develop, and agree requirements, project scope and solutions for specific outputs and work packages, undertaking procurement planning, tendering, down selection, and placement of supply chain contracts. Managing subcontracts through manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
Manage the planning, monitor and control of work packages being delivered by other internal and external resources.
Forecasting of costs and monitor and report against budget.
Stakeholder management and communications and to support development of stakeholder relationships.
Undertake risk management process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities, and issues.
Project portfolio managed by the role:
- NSRP plant management rigs
- Radiological services / resin discharge systems
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
The candidate must have demonstrable experience of Project Management in engineering delivery ideally with a mechanical systems background.
Experience of delivery on a Nuclear Licensed site or with Nuclear safety / implicated equipment or services would be preferable.
Experience using:
- NEC 4 ECC and PSC contracts (Options C & E)
- CEMAR - (desirable)
- MS Project
- Buildings Information Management (BIM) - (desirable)
- Proficient in MS office suite
- CDM 2015
- A degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field (or other qualifications e.g. HNC / HND with high level of demonstrable delivery experience).
- APM Project Management Qualification, minimum PMQ (or equivalent).
- MAPM (or actively working towards).
- APM Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)
- APMG Project Planning and Controls Foundation (can be completed after role commencement)

Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities of a Mechanical Package Manager
As a Mechanical Package Manager you'll be working within the Devonport Nuclear team, supporting them in ensuring all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely in accordance with project requirements and UK law.
Your day to day will include:
- Ensure all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely in accordance with project requirements and UK law.
- Review designs with the design teams and client to ensure they are optimised for efficient and safe construction, fully compliant with standards and contract requirements.
- Manage robust change control and manage risk and
