SRG is pleased to be partnering with an organisation involved in the development of human biomimetic platforms. As a Research Assistant in the biology team your role will be to support contract research projects by completing experiments and analysis to a high standard.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Cell line and primary cell culture - expanding cells and ensuring sufficient cell stocks are available
- Performing biological assays (e.g. ELISA’s, fluorescent microscopy, DNA/RNA extractions, qPCR)
- Completing data analysis to produce reliable and precise reports that can be provide to clients/customers and work to meet deadlines.
- Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment and following the company’s HSE policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
Ideal Candidate:
- BSc (or equivalent) in a Biology related discipline with experience in a similar role in industry.
- Expertise in mammalian cell cultures and ELISAs
- Experience in primary cell culture, qPCR/RT-PCR and microscopy would be desirable
- A team player with a proactive attitude that is able to support the team and work be able to work autonomously
- A multitasker with the ability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Preferable experience of working with advanced cell cultures (e.g. spheroids, organoids, primary cells)
- Experience working in a related laboratory role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

BackgroundThe Department of Radiography, School of Health and Medical Sciences, is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team, working on our project, "Radiographers' and autistic individuals' perceptions of autism and care in radiology: Listening, understanding, and planning for cultural and clinical practice changes in the UK".
This project aims to explore, map, and reflect on the experiences of autistic people within diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy setting, and gain insight into radiographers' perspectives of caring for autistic individuals.
ResponsibilitiesYou will work closely with the Principal Investigator to collect research data through a national online survey and by conducting individual interviews with research participants. You will analyse the data, and prepare the study findings for dissemination. This will include at least one journal article. You will also be supported to attend, and present the study findings at a national scientific conference.
Person SpecificationYou will hold a Master's degree in a radiography-related discipline and have clinical experience as a senior radiography professional. You will have sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and their application. Successful completion of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is essential.

Provides lead administrative support to the research sites, executing and ensuring completion of all activities of the team by coordinating and assisting patients and visitors visiting the site. Acts as the first-line contact for patients and visitors. + Coordinates, oversees and provides direction for the completion of administrative functions on assigned trials.

+ Schedules patients for follow-up visits, external appointments, transport, etc.
+ Conducts reminder telephone calls to patients to confirm visits.
+ Prepares all relevant patient documentation as per protocol and local regulations ahead of appointment.
+ May collect medical history information for potential patients, liaising with medical facilities and networks to collect patient files, documentation and other relevant information as may be required as per protocol.

**Qualifications:**

**Requirements:**
+ Good understanding of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), with ability to learn and maintain a good working knowledge of FDA regulations and company/client SOPs and WPDs

+ Firm attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data entry
+ Solid interpersonal/customer service skills, positive attitude, and good oral and written communication
