Your Role:
It is a key role for the operational success of the business and the role will focus on managing vendor relationships and will involve working closely with internal and external stakeholders. It is a diverse role, covering technical and non-technical buying, and managing how purchased items flow through the business to the point of installation.
You need to be an enthusiastic individual with previous experience in an automotive or mechanical purchasing, buying parts role.
Procuring parts and consumables for vehicles and the wider business
Managing the procurement of parts that we have made to their own designs, principally in the UK, China and the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and placement of orders for contract and non-contract items using manual requisitions and digital parts requisition systems
- ?Negotiation of lower pricing whenever possible.
- Maintenance of Supplier details on the procurement system and review of supplier performance.
- Responsible for monitoring supplier performance and developing improvement programmes.
- Maintenance of minimum stock levels against parts system requirements.
- Adjust parts system component parameters to achieve on time availability and appropriate batch sizes.
- Progress and chase outstanding PO's in liaison with Production management
