Job Title: School Patrol Officer

Working Hours : 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, Monday to Friday)

• Morning shift: 8:00am - 9:00am
• Afternoon shift: 3 :00pm - 4:00pm

Role Overview:
Pertemps is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity within London Borough of Harrow for a proactive and dedicated School Patrol Officer to join a growing team. This role offers a competitive hourly rate, comprehensive training, career development support, and 21 days of annual leave (excluding bank holidays).

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely guide children across designated crossing points.
• Stop traffic using clear and confident signals, ensuring vehicles remain stationary until all pedestrians have crossed.
• Wear and use all provided uniform and safety equipment to protect yourself, children, and the public.
• Follow all procedures in line with the Highway Code and Harrow Council's School Crossing Patrol (SCP) policies.
• Maintain accurate records of any incidents or accidents that occur during duty.

About You:
The ideal candidate will:

• Be confident in giving clear instructions to motorists and reporting incidents when necessary.
• Have a working knowledge of the Highway Code (or be willing to learn).
• Be flexible and able to work across different sites if required.
• Demonstrate a calm, friendly, and approachable manner, especially when interacting with children.
• Be punctual and reliable, with the ability to work the designated hours consistently.
• Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

School Crossing Patrol Officer

£12.65 per hour

Part time, term time only - Between 5.42 hours and 7.92 hours per week

We are looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as School Crossing Patrol Officers.

You will supervise the safe passage of school children and other pedestrians who are accompanying them, in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations 1981.

About the role:

As part of your role you will be responsible for deciding when it is safe to stop traffic, using the crossing patrol sign, to give clear signals to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

It is essential for you to have a knowledge of Road Safety and to possess good communication skills. At times, you may be required to liaise with the school and the police to assist in reporting accidents and other incidents at the crossing site.

In addition, you will also be provided with all equipment and uniform required to carry out the role.

School Crossing Patrol Officer - Langenhoe Primary School

Working Style: Operational field-based worker

Support schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its surrounding locations.

We are looking for a punctual and reliable individual, who is approachable and enjoys engaging with the public.

This position is for 7.5 hours per week approximately, with a holiday pay element included. You will need to be available to work during the 39 weeks of the academic year, for 45 minutes between 08:00 - 09:00 in the morning and 45 minutes between 14:45 - 15:45 in the afternoon approximately, depending on individual site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• To have regard for the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility impaired people wishing to use the crossing point.
• Maintain regular contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
• Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site in order to identify any problems. Report problems and defects to supervisor.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on accidents and failure to stop incidents and other incidents occurring at the crossing site.
• Ensure that all uniform and equipment provided is maintained in good condition and replacements requested when needed.
• Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensuring that the traffic remains at rest until the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.

Patrol all areas of the property, noting unusual circumstances or safety violations.
Defuse guest or employee disturbances/altercations in accordance with company policies and procedures, including summoning appropriate emergency services if necessary, and documenting incident.
Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV), duress alarms, and fire life safety system to ensure that any unusual behavior or emergency situations are responded too suitably, and the appropriate personnel are dispatched/action is taken.

STOP! Come and support your local community by joining Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer at St John's Green Primary School, Colchester.

Support schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its surrounding locations.

We are looking for a punctual and reliable individual, who is approachable and enjoys engaging with the public.

This position is for 7.5 hours per week approximately, with a holiday pay element included. You will need to be available to work during the 39 weeks of the academic year, for 45 minutes between 08:00 - 09:00 in the morning and 45 minutes between 14:45 - 15:45 in the afternoon approximately, depending on individual site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• To have regard for the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility impaired people wishing to use the crossing point.
• Maintain regular contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
• Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site in order to identify any problems. Report problems and defects to supervisor.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on accidents and failure to stop incidents and other incidents occurring at the crossing site.
• Ensure that all uniform and equipment provided is maintained in good condition and replacements requested when needed.
• Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensuring that the traffic remains at rest until the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.

Our Public Sector Business Unit is growing strongly, and we are looking for experienced pre-sales solution directors to join the team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are capable of working at pace: rapidly getting up to speed with new requirements and shaping compelling, innovative and differentiated solutions for our customers.
You will ideally have a background in the Public Sector, preferably for a consultancy or systems integrator, and have successfully led solution aspects of bid responses, presentations and customer discussions. You will be a strong communicator, capable of generating written material of extremely high quality and presenting confidently. You will be comfortable with a wide range of technologies and solution types with a perspective that is broad rather than deep in any specific area. You will have a strong commercial understanding and be able to balance financial and budgetary constraints with customer aspirations. You will be used to working a fast-changing environment, forming new teams quickly, bringing organisation and structure where there is ambiguity and building strong working relationships.
**What you'll be doing:**
You will be responsible for leading the pre-sales activity; typically as part of a formal procurement (e.g. RFx) or in support of a proactive campaign. You will be pivotal to the response, responsible for delivering an integrated solution and a coordinated delivery plan across all technology domains and business practices. You will be authoring your own content, as well as orchestrating and aligning content from across the business. You'll lead the generation of thought leadership, and be capable of developing innovative propositions that will differentiate us within the market.
Your primary objectives will be to:

+ Excellent knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle and in delivery of software products
+ Experience with agile development methods & tooling e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework, GDS Service Standard, Jira & Confluence
+ Understanding of architectural concepts, across application, cloud infrastructure, data, and integration
+ Experience in managed services or operational environments (such as defining service architectures) would also be advantageous
