Job Description
Our client based in Frankley, Birmingham, is searching for a Pattern Maker-Fitter to join their team on a 37-hour working week, 07:00-16:45, Monday – Thursday.
Summary of position:
Contributing to the finishing processes of our sub-sea and buoyancy products, ensuring customers receive their orders to the required standard and on time. This post-holder is responsible for ensuring the schedule is adhered to and contributing to the problem-solving of any issues that may arise during each finishing process.
Primary Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities:
- Continually perform against KPI’s. Ensure safe operation of equipment, routinely scheduling preventative maintenance and reporting repair requirements to line management.
- Identify and suggest any opportunities to implement continuous improvement to line management.
- Act as ambassador for 5S and promote a clean and safe working environment, educating all team members in relevant procedures.
- Implementing any action plans that are allocated out of the continuous improvement process.
- Be professional by openly and honestly communicating with other team members in a collaborative way.
- Ensure product quality is to the highest standard, act as both ‘in line’ and final inspection quality assurance. Escalate concerns to line manager where appropriate.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines and regulations are followed and that all relevant documentation is recorded.
- Signpost or escalate H&S concerns to SMT or relevant responsible person.
Essential Personal Specification, Experience and Education Required:
Qualities and Attitude:
- Drive to deliver, hit targets and maximise productivity while maintaining high standards.
- Customer-oriented.
- Inspiring dedication and joint accountability.
- Strong attention and eye for detail.
- Strong work and quality ethics etc.
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience of pattern maker-fitter role.
Desirable Personal Specification, Experience and Education:
Experience:
- Experience of working in ISO9001 environments.
Qualifications & Training:
- Understanding of health and safety principles.
- An understanding of continuous improvement principles.
- Knowledge of 5S methodology.
Competencies:
- Exacting Standards, not willing to produce inferior products.
- Problem-Solving Approach.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills, building strong cooperative relationships within team.
- Effective Communicator, clear in expectations and requirements.
