We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our dynamic dental practice in Drighlington, West Yorkshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care and promoting oral health to our diverse patient base.
- Start Date: December 2025 however we can be flexible in line with your notice period
- Days and Hours: 1 x day per week, surgery space available on a Tuesday on a 12 month fixed term basis.
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene treatments, including Airflow
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments and develop personalised treatment plans
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and place dental sealants as needed
- Take dental radiographs using digital technology
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and infection control protocols

Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and individuals with special healthcare needs.
- Conduct comprehensive oral examinations, including diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Perform a wide range of pediatric dental procedures, such as sealants, fillings, extractions, and pulp therapy.
- Administer and manage sedation and general anesthesia when necessary, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Educate parents and guardians on oral hygiene practices and preventative care.
- Lead and mentor associate dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices in pediatric dentistry and infection control.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the pediatric dental service.
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
- Completion of an advanced education program in Pediatric Dentistry accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Current license to practice dentistry in the UK.
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric dentistry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Expertise in behavior management techniques for children.
- Proficiency in all aspects of pediatric dental treatment, including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and supportive team environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
