Therapy Specialist Nurse – Critical Care - South West

Are you an experienced Critical Care or Intensive Care Nurse looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to deliver exceptional training and education to our NHS customers, across our critical care portfolio. If you are an RGN with significant clinical and operational experience within the NHS and a proven track record of planning, delivering and assessing clinical training, we would love to speak to you.

Experience of working in Critical Care / Intensive Care Units is essential. A formal teaching and assessing qualification are preferred but not essential for the right candidate.

This role is full time, 37.5hrs a week, working variable hours between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

This is a field-based role where extensive travel in the South West region will be required; therefore, you must hold a valid, full UK driving licence.

What does the role involve?

You will: -

• Be supporting the development of new business and the protection of existing business through the delivery of high-quality clinical training and education to end users of our products.
• Be involved in developing and delivering added value clinical training to groups and individuals within the NHS and providing support to nursing and medical staff on an on-going basis.
• Need to have an awareness of competitor products, services and activity.
• Be able to build and maintain relationships with key customers as identified in Territory Action Plans. 
• Work closely and pro-actively with your Regional Business Manager to ensure all activities are aligned to the Territory Action Plan and overarching strategy for the business.

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification (RSCN or equivalent pediatric qualification).
• Current NMC registration.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pediatric nursing.
• Proven experience in a specialist area (e.g., oncology, cardiology, neonatology) is highly desirable.
• Excellent clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Strong understanding of child safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and their families.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health histories on pediatric patients.
• Diagnose and manage common acute illnesses and injuries.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests.
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions in children.
• Provide anticipatory guidance and counseling on nutrition, safety, and development.
• Educate parents and guardians on child health and well-being.
• Perform well-child check-ups and immunizations according to recommended schedules.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary, coordinating care effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with clinic policies.
• Advocate for the health and well-being of children and families.
• Stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine and evidence-based practice.

• Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
• Current RN license and PNP certification in the UK.
• Valid Prescribing rights (V300).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
• In-depth knowledge of child development, common pediatric conditions, and evidence-based practices.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• A genuine passion for providing high-quality pediatric care.

• Assist dentists with all pediatric dental treatments and procedures.
• Provide chairside support, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare and maintain the dental surgery, ensuring it is clean, sterile, and equipped for treatments.
• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict protocols.
• Take dental impressions and pour models.
• Expose and process dental radiographs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and treatment notes.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, preventative care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with children of all ages and their guardians.
• Supervise and mentor junior dental nurses, providing guidance and support.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and GDC guidelines.
• Manage stock levels and order dental supplies as needed.
• Contribute to a positive and welcoming clinic atmosphere.
