The Opportunity:

A fabulous opportunity for an experienced, Performance Engineer to join the small yet growing, dedicated and talented team at Lola as we embark on the next phase of the adventure. The role of the Performance Engineer will primarily leading the performance analysis across all racing projects undertaken by the Lola Technical Team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create and run performance simulations and define performance parameters for all technical projects.
  • Create and optimise vehicle simulations for all race programmes.
  • Analyse telemetry and simulation data to assess and optimize vehicle performance.
  • Optimises car and driver performance through thorough and targeted analysis pre-, during-
  • and post-session and event.
  • Develops and implement new methodologies for performance analysis.
  • Delivers innovative concepts for both on- and off- the car to differentiate performance from competitors.
  • Provides support to Race Engineer during event preparation and post-event analysis.
  • Provides support for DIL activities during event preparation, post-event correlation, system
  • development, and driver training.
  • Creates in-house tools for race management, energy management, and strategy.
  • Works closely with trackside engineering & simulator groups to deliver accurate simulation results, for both pre & in-event.
  • Creates and maintains vehicle models using various software applications to enhance vehicle performance.
  • Continuously explores and implements new simulation methods to ensure state-of-the-art models and algorithms.
  • Takes pro-active leadership in model correlation activities to enhance simulation accuracy.
  • Utilises machine learning techniques to build performance analysis tools and predictive models for vehicle systems.
  • Collaborates across different groups to progress toward performance targets.
  • Attends track events, as necessary.
  • Attends regular Performance Review and Project Review meetings to track progress and ensure alignment across technical areas.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all performance simulations

Technical Skills required:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a trackside role within top-tier motorsport such as F1, FE, or LMP, showcasing a proven track record in performance engineering.
    • Well-versed in utilising simulation and Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator applications for vehicle development within motorsports.
    • Demonstrates profound understanding of vehicle dynamics, tyres, and aerodynamics.
    • Experience with performance control systems an advantage.
    • Experience in creating advanced vehicle and systems models for simulation purposes, including tyre modelling.
    • Experience with TAG Ecosystem: ATLAS, System Monitor. vTAG exposure, an advantage.
    • Vehicle simulation experience using Canopy, AVL VSM & Simulink an advantage.
    • Proficient with programming and analysis languages e.g. Matlab, Python, etc. Experience in machine learning, an advantage.

  • An interest in and understanding of engineering/motorsport.

  • A Performance and Simulation Engineer who has acquired the appropriate experience, skills & knowledge.

Role Location & Hours:

The role will be based at the Silverstone, Lola Facility with the potential for some flexibility for remote working. 40 hrs a week, normal working days Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead performance analysis across business classes, schemes, and distribution channels.
  • Drive strategic actions to support performance vs. forecast – including pricing, loss ratio, and combined operating ratio initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

Contract Type: 6-month Contract (Inside IR35)

Reporting To: Senior Performance Analyst, Collaboration and Communication Services (C&CS)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Performance Analyst to support the Digital Workplace Function, specifically working with the Email and Microsoft Office team within the Collaboration and Communication Services (C&CS). This role will focus on delivering data-driven insights and performance measurement to enhance the user experience of internal digital services. You will operate under the guidance of a Senior Performance Analyst and work within a multi-disciplinary team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of performance measurement frameworks and meaningful KPIs.
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative data analysis to drive service improvement.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, user researchers, and service teams to deliver actionable insights.
  • Communicate analysis clearly using appropriate formats and tailored messaging for varied audiences.
  • Interpret and analyse user data to guide service design and delivery decisions.
  • Support the collection, validation, preparation, and cleansing of data.
  • Use Power BI, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and Azure Data Services to build dashboards and performance reports.
  • Leverage BigQuery and Google Tag Manager for advanced data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with digital service standards and accessibility principles.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated 5+ years of experience working within performance analysis or similar roles.
  • Strong technical capability in:
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Microsoft Azure Data Services
  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, BigQuery, Looker Studio
  • Statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and significance evaluation
  • Experience in designing and implementing performance frameworks and KPIs.
  • Skilled in user-centred analysis, translating user research and behaviour into strategic insight.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Familiarity with data quality assurance and preparation best practices.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in public sector, internal services, or large-scale digital transformation.
  • Exposure to agile environments and iterative delivery.
  • Understanding of data privacy, security, and governance frameworks.

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid working from Manchester, Leeds, or Sheffield (site attendance may be required).
  • Contract duration: 6 months
  • BPSS clearance required prior to onboarding.
  • Hands-on use of internal platforms including Microsoft Azure and Power BI for accessing and processing staff activity data.
