Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Technician to join their dynamic team in **Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK**. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual with a passion for the automotive industry to advance their career. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic procedures, carrying out advanced mechanical and electrical repairs, and specializing in performance tuning and modification. You will work with a wide range of vehicle makes and models, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and tools. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-depth diagnostic assessments of vehicle systems using advanced scanning tools and technical information.
- Performing complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including engine rebuilds, transmission overhauls, and advanced electrical fault finding.
- Specializing in ECU remapping, performance upgrades, and customisation for various vehicle types.
- Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Maintaining accurate service records and documenting all work performed.
- Mentoring and guiding junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Collaborating with the service advisors to provide clear explanations of repairs and recommendations to customers.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic techniques through continuous training and development.
- Ensuring a safe and tidy workshop environment is maintained at all times.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, with a strong focus on diagnostics and performance tuning.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven expertise in using advanced diagnostic equipment and software.
- A strong understanding of engine management systems, electrical systems, and vehicle performance enhancement.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
