Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning, distribution and execution of commodity products to companies and institutions that have exposure to commodities.
- To propose, develop and implement a plan to develop a customer base with a specific requirement around the development of Chinese owned entities, both SOE and independently owned energy/petrochemical companies.
- To propose, develop and implement a plan to develop a customer base which are not primarily energy companies but companies with a high cost of energy, such as manufacturing and transportation.
- To develop the business within the overall business plan of the companies in conjunction with other companies and business lines.
- To manage the business in respect of its development, staff, risk and controls and to ensure it operates within the standards set by companies, Regulators and Exchanges
- To develop customers for the benefit of the business, the product line and company Group
Marketing&Sales:
• In accordance with the management and colleagues to develop and implement a marketing strategy for geographical areas, the development of products and services and different customer categories
• Ensure that the activity develops in conjunction with the strategy of company, most notably with Fixed Income & Commodities and Global Energy & Commodities.
• Ensure that conduct of business is professional at all times from both a regulatory and commercial perspective.
• Develop where possible all opportunities to distribute other products offered by the Group
• Ensure that the plans are clearly explained and understood by all staff & colleagues
Customer Service:
• Ensure the conduct of business is professional at all times from a regulatory standpoint as well as a professional one.
• Ensure the delivery is at the highest level of customer service to all accounts by maximising the use of all products and services
• Ensure regular contact is made with customers including the planning of customer visits.
• Build and manage long term relationships with clients
• Motivate administrative staff and other support departments to ensure the customer service standards meet the customer expectations
• Ensuring that all customer trades are checked on a daily basis and that there are no outstanding trades or disputes
• Ensure that customer contributions are properly recorded
Credit:
• To ensure that all customers have sufficient facilities for any trades undertaken
• To ensure that credit risks are monitored on a daily basis in terms of margining and that the staff help to facilitate the collection of funds when required.
• To ensure that for all customers comments are provided for the customer reviews on an annual basis
Prospecting:
• Identify and segment all prospects and work to define and develop appropriate products for the customers.
• Create and suggest plans in terms of the creation of new customer opportunities including promotion, advertising, sponsorship, conference attendance and business trips.
Product Knowledge:

o Are able to translate product / service features into benefits for the customers

- Work with upstream colleagues to understand and develop long term supply-side driven trends
- Client engagement:
- Lead and drive client engagement activities, build and develop market contacts to understand commodity markets and improve product offerings and analysis
- Attend conferences and networking events, speaking at events/webinars where appropriate
- Support sales activities

The role is for a Senior Analyst to join our fast-growing Chemical Analytics team, which is focussed on quantifying and analysing chemical markets to enable customers to understand what is happening, why it is happening and what might happen next. Working closely with colleagues in other teams, including editorial and data science functions, analysts will primarily be responsible to lead the production of short-term price forecasts for assigned commodities, as well as manage and develop current and forward-looking supply and demand balances. Analysts will work directly with clients to help them better understand chemical markets and explain some of the nuance and context behind published data. There is also scope analysts to enhance analytical models, with the aim to improve current product offerings and insight for clients, or to contribute towards new product development.
Responsibilities
+ Price forecast and market analysis:
+ Produce regular short term price forecasts for assigned commodities and regions
+ Collect and analyse latest news and developments, support colleagues in content team
+ Liaise with industry contacts and clients to understand their needs and latest developments
+ Supply and demand analysis:
+ Lead activities related to the ICIS Supply and Demand Database for assigned commodities
+ Produce timely insight and analysis for industry developments related to investments and unit closures, production and demand outlooks, and trade developments
+ Develop and leverage expertise in key derivative and demand segments
+ Work with upstream colleagues to understand and develop long term supply-side driven trends
+ Client engagement:
+ Lead and drive client engagement activities, build and develop market contacts to understand commodity markets and improve product offerings and analysis
+ Attend conferences and networking events, speaking at events/webinars where appropriate
+ Support sales activities
+ Develop analytics models:
+ Lead model developments and enhancements, for example: production data, demand modelling, end-use analysis, cost of production and price forecast models, short term supply demand development, recycling models
+ Will include working with both content and data science teams
Requirements
+ Previous experience of commodity markets (working in a technical, commercial or research capacity) is essential; a background in chemicals or refining markets would be advantageous but it is not a requirement.
+ Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret and communicate findings effectively.
+ Excellent storytelling abilities to present complex information in an engaging manner.
+ Ability to lead and collaborate with colleagues in analysing and understanding market dynamics
+ Comfortable engaging with others to build and maintain client and market contact relationships.

**Job Description**
As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a range of projects in the energy and renewable power sector. Projects range from small scale power generation to large-scale projects from concept through to detailed design stages across various industries, including future fuels and renewable energy projects, power generation and CCUS.
**What will a day in this role look like?**
+ Providing engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles
+ Reviewing technical and design reports, preparing and presenting bids and proposals including cost estimates and supporting materials
+ Working closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables
+ Actively fostering and strengthening relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; developing new relationships in the pursuit of winning work for the energy business
+ Coaching, mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers empowering them to grow and develop professionally
**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (or equivalent)
+ Considerable technical experience in power generation, industrial process, CCUS and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment
+ Demonstrated technical leadership with a proven track record in successful project delivery, including design management for detailed design projects
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
+ An established network within the energy community in the UK, with the ability to build new relationships through your connections, and from the high-quality technical engineering you are known for.
