Leading international Pharmaceutical Manufacturer seeks an experienced Pharmaceutical Production Operator to assist in the creation of life-saving drugs.

About the role:

  • Working within GMP Cleanroom environments, you will set up and operate various processes for which you will receive full Production Operator training. These roles work on a Double Day Shift Pattern.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Assemble raw materials for batches in accordance with received Batch Documentation
  • Working to a production plan deliver batches
  • Transfer raw materials for production
  • Label all batches in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure all materials and components are replenished in preparation for start-up on the next shift
  • Carry out documentation duties required under good manufacturing practice.
  • Ensure areas are maintained/cleaned in accordance with 'good housekeeping' practise and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the appropriate disposal of waste from the grade C area is in accordance with current procedures
  • Record and communicate any issues affecting quality or efficiency.
  • Ensure all batches and materials are transferred into the Aseptic services unit to ensure production occurs in line with the schedule.

Skills and experience:

  • Aseptic or Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience ideal but not essential.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team to deliver a plan
  • Trained in manual handling procedures
  • Health & Safety awareness preferable.

Job Purpose:

We are currently hiring for Shift Production Technicians to join our team in October 2025, our asset is scheduled to begin operating mid 2026.

As a Shift Production Technician of Carrington Renewable Power Station, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Carrington assets. Ensuring the necessary operational and commercial procedures are followed to maximise value whilst operating within our legal requirements.

This is a unique opportunity to operate the World’s largest Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) asset, you will be given comprehensive training and support for the various instrumentation and controls systems in operation and join a business at the forefront of delivering the energy transition.

Key Activities:

  • Actively promote a culture of health, safety and environmental awareness and seek out improvements in safety performance at Carrington site. 
  • Carry out routine plant operations as required.
  • Operating within the levels of delegated authority where nominated.
  • Managing the Safety Rules process (subject to levels of authorisation)
  • Optimising plant availability and performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve plant performance.
  • Effectively interface with external stakeholders e.g. Energy Trading, ESO etc.
  • Responding to plant failures.
  • Undertaking first-line maintenance and investigations where plant problems arise, subject to training and competence.
  • Producing job plans, risk assessments and method statements for First Line Maintenance and Production Routines
  • Other responsibilities as defined by the Assistant Plant Manager
  • Provide focus on improving the operation of the Carrington assets.
  • Report defects, initiate response and remedial actions.
  • Enact the roles of Permit Authoriser, Permit Engineer, Authorised Person, Acceptor, Site Checker and Issuer.
  • Initiate Site Emergency Actions as required, undertaking the named role where appropriate as defined in the Site Emergency Plan.

The initial period of your employment will be focused on training and preparation for the asset go live in Mid-2026.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Educated to BTEC ONC Level in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Educated to NVQ Level 3(or equivalent) in Electrical or Control & Instrumentation.
  • Practical experience in Electrical and/or Control and Instrumentation fault finding.
  • An understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and standards.
  • Have a strong safety awareness and the ability to drive the correct safety culture in others;
  • Be able to understand and retain knowledge of current policies and procedures.
  • Confidence to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver the role whilst demonstrating flexibility, initiative and high levels of self-motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.
  • Be able to understand the importance of delivering against customer expectations and the impact of varying from the Market requirements.

Undertaking the corrective actions deemed necessary when goods fall outside the laid down specification by rejecting or quarantining production.

To ensure all operators are undertaking the required visual checks on all products to ensure optimum quality standards, and they are correctly recording and labeling goods.

To complete all relevant paperwork applicable to the process/inspection or reports.For example pallet tickets, production log sheets, quality inspection result sheets etc. 

Participate in all ongoing training plans.
