Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking a talented and innovative Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join their state-of-the-art research facility in Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This role is central to driving forward groundbreaking research and development in novel therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new drug candidates. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative scientific environment, contributing to significant advancements in healthcare.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing, planning, and executing in-vitro and in-vivo experiments to support drug discovery and development programs.
  • Developing and validating new assays and methodologies.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data, and generating comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, biologists, and toxicologists.
  • Maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks and adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Troubleshooting experimental procedures and resolving technical challenges.
  • Presenting research findings at internal meetings and potentially external scientific conferences.
  • Staying abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in the field.
  • Contributing to patent applications and regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline, with a strong track record of research achievements. Hands-on experience in relevant experimental techniques (e.g., cell culture, molecular cloning, protein analysis, small animal models) is essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role. Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry setting is highly desirable. This is a laboratory-based role requiring a strong commitment to scientific rigor and innovation.

Qualifications:
  • PhD in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
  • Proven experience in designing and conducting complex research experiments.
  • Expertise in relevant scientific techniques and methodologies.
