An excellent opportunity for Production Operator to join a well-established company based in Luton, Bedfordshire.
About the Company:
They are a growing manufacturing facility which has been established for over 50 years and are a leading provider of site welfare and portable cabins at the forefront of sustainable innovation within the sector. Looking for long-term employment production operatives to join their team as they expand and optimise. Training is provided and there is also opportunity for career development beyond this role.
A variety of roles are available such as semi-skilled labourers, Storeman/forklift driver, fitters and machine operators.
About the Role:
- A high emphasis on quality of work with an ethos of completing work to the required standard so that it reaches the next stage of production. without the need to be re-done or fixed in any way. Adhere to the Health and Safety requirements set out. Maintaining good housekeeping standards. Liaising with a team leader as well as working within a team to ensure production standards and quotas are met. Safe and proper use of power tools with respect to the equipment available.
Candidate Requirements:
- Good Work ethic.
- Focused work-flow.
- "hands on" experience, Ideally familiar with the use of power tools.
- Valuable skills to us are: Electrical, Plumbing, Fitter, Carpentry, Sprayer, Facilities maintenance and other skilled trades.
Company Benefits:
£12.21-£4 per hour, Depending on Experience. .50 Hourly Bonus within 40 hours a week if the company reaches production quota. 28 Days Annual Leave (inclusive of statutory holiday). Opportunity for Overtime at the rate of 1.5 x pay before normal working hours from 6am-8am with Saturday work available.
Working Hours:
- 8 hour shift. Day shift. Monday to Friday. Overtime. Weekend availability.

The Production Operative will be involved in mechanical fitting (preparing and building machines for test, fitting drives, couplings, lubrication and cooling systems) along with sub assembly prep work (assembling mains and neutral terminal boxes, exciter bases and frames).
**The Candidate**
Main duties include:
+ Mechanical fitting - preparing and building machines for test, fitting drives, couplings
+ Sub assembly prep work - assembling mains and neutral terminal boxes, exciter bases, frames
+ Measuring various components to tight tolerances with micrometers, verniers, bore mics, DTI gauges
+ Maintaining a clean and tidy work area in line with 5S standards
+ Adherence to EHS and ensuring a safe working environment
**Key skills/abilities:**
+ Previous experience of mechanical and electrical fitting
+ Ability to work to drawings and schematics with complete accuracy, understanding geometric tolerances and key symbols
+ Ability to work within a team, use own initiative to meet production targets and deadlines
+ Available to work shifts, specifically late shift and flexible to support overtime as required
