**Your Role**
We're looking for students who have a passion for logistics (or their chosen field if applying to one of our functional units), and want to gain real-life experience in a fast paced and complex environment. **Your Responsibilities**
Our Summer Placements are open to university students in any year of study, who wish to gain valuable work experience during the summer. Over a period of 10 weeks, you will have first-hand experience in the front line of our business operations.
Our Industrial Placements are open to university students due to undertake a year in industry as part of their course (typically year 3 of a 4 year degree). Starting in September, over a period of one year, you will play a key role in one of our teams having real responsibility from day one.
Our Internships are open to students or recent graduates looking to obtain valuable work experience to support their studies or career progression. Internships can take place throughout the year and typically 6-12 months in length.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Director, Private Placements Investing whose main responsibility will revolve around originating and managing non-publicly-traded (senior) debt investments. Building on the significant leadership position and growth of Nuveen's IG private credit platform both from investment activity as well as commercialization, the successful individual will be working independently and responsible for building out the Private Placements team's investing capabilities, managing a junior investment team, and establishing an origination channel in the UK and Europe.
The Nuveen Private Placement team invests on behalf of TIAA and other clients in private credit. The team manages a portfolio over $66bn and invests around $9bn annually *. Investment professionals on the Nuveen Private Placement team specialize in corporate investment grade, project finance, private ABS, and credit tenant loan transactions.
Key responsibilities:
+ Manages investments in high-quality private placement securities and/or investments in a wide variety of private placement securities, including investment and non-investment grade securities, in accordance with defined investment objectives and parameters, while also supporting the origination of investments.
+ Maintains an asset allocation approach to enhance investment performance and maximize returns while appropriately balancing risk, analysing economic/industry forecasts as well as investment approaches and risk scenarios to formulate recommendations for asset allocation.
+ Researches selected industries and companies, monitors market trends, and prepares reports to support investment decisions.
+ Analyses economic, industry and company data, and develops detailed financial models to support investment decisions.
+ Assists in maintaining relationships with deal sponsors, investment banks, investment funds, and other deal flow sources.
+ Helps coach and delegate work to lower-level team members, validating and supplementing their work and providing guidance and insight as needed to help them improve performance and productivity.
Qualifications & Experience Required
+ Significant relevant experience with investment grade and potentially below investment grade private placements

+ Strong skills in understanding legal structures and documentation, in the financing of assets and companies
+ Fluency in English + another European language
