About the Role:
Salary £46k + lodging + company vehicle
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team.
This vital role ensures that all plant and equipment meet our high standards of safety, compliance, and operational readiness. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in upholding our mission and values, which you can explore here.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on earthworks plant, 4x4s, minibuses, and other site vehicles.
- Record machine hours, damage, tyre wear, and apply plant ID stickers.
- Check and maintain safety equipment (e.g., cameras, alarms, lights).
- Inspect and replenish fluids, grease pots, and perform basic greasing.
- Monitor tyre conditions, undercarriage wear, and Ground Engaging Tools (GET).
- Assist with diagnostics and report issues to the Plant Desk.
- Produce risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Manage stock control of fluids and maintain COSHH-compliant storage.
- Support OEM staff with basic repairs and machine location.
- Replace GET and cutting edges.
- Issue Maintenance Permits to Work as required.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- CSCS Green Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance
- CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
- Experience with heavy plant maintenance
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to write risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
Desirable:
- CPCS A68 Plant Mover Card
- Welding experience or qualification
- Familiarity with Tier 1 OEM equipment (e.g., Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu)
