Our client, a manufacturer of machinery parts, is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Assembler to be based at their manufacturing operation in Rutland

Reporting to the Team Leader you will have responsibility for working on the assembly of bespoke automotive parts. This will involve a wide range of components from metal installation to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Use hand and power tools to assembly products
  • Follow drawings to ensure products are made to the correct specification
  • Commission completed products and fault find any issues.

Purpose of the Role

To deliver effective mechanical maintenance and breakdown support across the facility to ensure departmental availability and performance targets are achieved in line with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety, adhering to all safe systems of work and reporting any incidents or near misses.
  • li>Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns, returning equipment to safe and effective operation within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Complete follow-up actions from shift reports and planned inspections (e.g., SAP notifications).
  • Analyse failure modes of plant equipment, recommending and implementing preventative measures.
  • Source, collect, and return mechanical spares using the maintenance management system.

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair
  • General fabrication, turning, milling, and grinding
  • Rigging and lifting of heavy mechanical components

The successful candidate will support the drive toward improved safety, reliability, and performance within a challenging, fast-paced industrial environment.
