**Position Purpose:**
The Plant Manager will manage all plant operational activities at the designated site to ensure the effective safe utilisation of the plant equipment to comply with site permit regulations and meet customer expectations in a compliant and customer friendly manner.
The Plant Manager will manage day to day plant operations in accordance with license obligations and health and safety procedures, including KPI targets, business objectives and overall management of site personnel.
Working as part of the operations team to ensure safe long-term operation of the Plant at a sustained high utilisation; achieving this will need effective use of resources and manpower on a day to day and hour by hour basis.
This role will be required to provide out of hours on call duties, on a rota basis as required.
**Key Job Activities:**
The Plant Manager will provide strong inspirational leadership to the operational team at their designated site, as well as playing a key role in the sites vision in continuous improvement and retaining high levels of engagement.
Ensure optimum levels of plant/equipment performance is achieved and sustained. Provide technical assistance and support to the service and maintenance teams.
Ensure that company principles and standards are adhered to with respect to all personnel, resources, procedures and practices.
Lead the plant operations in line with appropriate legislation including H&S, maintenance, standard operating procedures, working time directive and site permit requirements. Manage, train and develop a team of multi-skilled engineers and technicians.
Ensure the safe operation of all activities making sure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work are met and training is maintained and adhered to according to Stericycle policies and statutory requirements.
Accountability for overall productivity within the operation, ensuring that activities are cost effective and levels of resource are managed effectively. Budgetary responsibility for the site, ensuring costs are managed in line with P&L expectations. Ensure that the site management teams are engaged in supporting the financial requirements and goals of the business including effective cost control, supporting AR functions, revenue, profit.
Maintain communications and personal contact with staff, as appropriate, to ensure the effectiveness of operations support.
**Education:**
**Experience (North America & LATAM):**
Required Education: High School or equivalent
Preferred Education: Associate's or equivalent
Engineering degree or equivalent.
COTC would be advantageous.
**Experience (EMEAA):**
Experience of managing KPIs and P&L.
Experience of operating an engineering plant.
Plant maintenance.
Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of working at a similar senior level within a complex plant function, ideally within an incineration and combustion environment.

Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our 'under the roof' associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our 'on the road' people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
Basic Qualifications
- A degree
- Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
- Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques
- Experience in a similar logistical working environment
- Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
