Role Overview
We are looking for experienced machine operators to join our site teams on solar farm installations. The work is fast-paced, intensive, and requires a strong work ethic. Reliability is essential — this is not new build housing with downtime, it is continuous installation work on live construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate machinery including skid steers, telehandlers, and other plant equipment on solar farm projects
• Work collaboratively with the mechanical install team to support turnkey delivery
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards at all times
• Travel to different UK sites and stay away where required
• Be available for overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines
Requirements
• Valid CSCS card (mandatory)
• Valid tickets for Skid Steer, Telehandler, or other plant machinery
• Previous experience on solar, renewable, or construction sites preferred
• Strong reliability and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with minimal downtime

Identify and fix minor machinery issues, escalating when needed.
Coordinate supplies with the warehouse team to keep production running smoothly.
Support training and induction of new team members and agency workers.
Play an active role in health, safety, and food safety compliance.
Assist during audits and high-profile visits, showcasing our commitment to excellence.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Management teams to drive continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential certifications: Food Safety Level 2, HACCP Level 2, Allergen Awareness, Chemical Awareness, and PPT.
Desirable: FLT license, mechanical engineering skills, first aid qualification, and 1-2 years’ experience in food or FMCG production.
Confidence using SAP, Applied Principles, and new technologies.

- Complete accurate shift reports and production records
- Collaborate closely with the shift leader, material handlers, packers, and quality teams

- Care for and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment
- Follow all company rules including Health & Safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and production procedures
The ideal candidate must:
- Have a strong mechanical background (either through experience or qualification)
- Be experienced working in a manufacturing or production setting
- Be confident operating and setting machinery
- Have a proactive approach to solving problems and reducing downtime
- Be organised, reliable, and capable of maintaining accurate records
- Be flexible with working a rotating Panama shift pattern
- Experience in the plastics industry is preferred but not essential
