Reporting to the Power Conversion & Storage North Europe Business Operations Director, the Portfolio Management Office Director will build on the existing PMO to align it to the strategic goals of the North Europe business, and the Global PMO vision.
The PMO Director will be accountable for building, guiding and developing the PMO team, focusing on process, practices, behaviors and culture. They will support the Project Management and Planning & Controls teams in their continued successful delivery of inflight projects and programs. Key focus areas will include quality, cost and risk management across the project lifecycle from bid to delivery.
Success will be seen by an improvement in ROI, volume of projects delivering on time and to budget, and controlled risk exposure.

**Key Responsibilities**
In a matrix management environment, lead and support the delivery teams in:
**Successful project delivery.** Ensure that the project portfolio is effectively resourced and prioritized, aligned to strategic goals. Incorporate effective risk management, lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement activity to improve delivery capabilities.
**Visibility to the project portfolio.** Establish visual management at a project, portfolio and enterprise level, to facilitate informed decision making. Drive project and program reporting to provide an accurate and timely reflection of status. Establish a critical few KPIs to monitor delivery performance.
**Portfolio Governance.** Complete reviews at appropriate milestones and act on escalations. Ensure that governance policy and process are fit for purpose, add value, and support successful delivery to quality, time and budget. Establish an assurance framework for strategic programs to ensure more robust oversight where needed.
**Team development.** Ensure all delivery team members have the appropriate skills to deliver the pipeline. Make recommendations on growth and development opportunities for the team and support their training and coaching.
**Continuous Improvement.** Lead and encourage continuous improvement in collaboration with the delivery teams. Celebrate and share success with team.
**Tools & Process.** Support the development and implementation of processes and tools to drive project delivery excellence.
**Skills and Experience**
+ Experience in designing, implementing and leading a Portfolio Management Office in a large organization.
+ Hands on experience as a delivery manager at a program level, familiar with project delivery methodologies (eg Prince 2 / Agile / PMP).
+ Proven ability to operationalize a vision, moving it from paper to actions on the ground.
+ Proven experience of leading change in a large, diverse organization.
+ Comfortable with business / project tools (eg MS Office / Primavera P6 / PMP tools)
+ Skilled in process re-engineering across the full value chain.
