Qualifications:
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with a significant focus on leading complex projects.
  • Expertise in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R, Perl) and experience with workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow).
  • Strong experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Singularity).
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms relevant to biological data analysis.
  • Experience analyzing various types of high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq).
  • Proven ability to manage complex bioinformatics projects and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of impactful contributions through publications and presentations.
  • Experience working effectively in a fully remote, distributed research environment is essential.
