Are you an experienced SEN professional looking for a new challenge?
We're working in close partnership with a specialist school in Hinckley to recruit a skilled and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5-11 with a range of complex needs.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, offering a daily rate of 105. You'll be joining a dedicated team focused on providing high-quality education and care for children who require additional support to thrive in a mainstream or specialist setting.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping children with additional needs access learning, develop social skills, and grow in confidence. You'll be supporting both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting children with complex SEN (including Autism, ADHD, and communication needs)
Delivering targeted support under the guidance of teaching staff and therapists
Building strong, trusting relationships with children to help them feel safe and supported
Assisting with personal care tasks if required
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in daily school life

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a small SEN school on the outskirts of Southampton in Dibden/Hythe which caters for children with autism and other associated needs, aged 4 - 11 years. If you are unable to drive, the school do provide pick up and drop off to the local bus stops at Dibden roundabout and TESCO Superstore in Applemore.
They are a warm and nurturing school who use best practice strategies and interventions to deliver highly individualised learning for their pupils. They love to celebrate the progress each child makes both academically and emotionally.
They are looking for a caring, engaging and experienced Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in their school in Dibden/Hythe on a long term, possible temp to perm basis. If you live in the Dibden/Hythe area and love to work with primary aged children with special educational needs, this is the ideal role for you! This would also be suited to someone who has worked in nurseries/early years as lots of activities are floor based/messy play/sensory etc.
The successful Primary SEN Teaching Assistant will be required to work with children with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis. Experience of working in an SEN school would be an advantage, although not essential. You must have experience of working in a school/nursery/care setting with children and young people. You will be required to assist with personal care duties.
