I'm looking for a Principal Designer (Building Regulations) to join an award-winning fire protection business based in Huddersfield.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as Principal Designer under the Building Regulations
- Coordinate and manage the design process on refurbishment and fire safety remediation projects, to meet the legal requirements in all buildings including HRB, existing and new build
- Ensure that the design work complies with the building regulations through out a project
- Manage the collation and communication of design information between clients, contractors, fire engineers, and other duty holders in relation to compliance with the relevant requirements
- Review and challenge fire safety design proposals to ensure regulatory compliance and as built
- Identify and resolve design risks related to fire safety, access, maintenance, structural integrity, and compartmentation
- Support the development of fire strategies, compartmentation drawings, and technical submissions to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR)
- Design review of contractor proposals, passive fire protection solutions, and material specifications for compliance statements with fire performance requirements
