We are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Shift Team Leader to join our team and to build a career in the print industry!
You will be responsible for leading the Print process on your shift including the mounting and ink department, ensuring safety, quality and overall performance targets are achieved!
Additionally, as our Manufacturing Shift Team Leader you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all safety and environment procedures and policies are followed. li>Establishing a disciplined and organised working environment
Leadership and management of the print department on shift with responsibility for ensuring standards / performance are met in:
- Safety, health, environment and hygiene
- Quality
- Meters per manned hour
- Make ready times
- Waste
- 5S and housekeeping standards
- Maintenance is carried out to planned timescales.
- Team development, performance monitored and recommendation made to the process manager for training of team members as and when required.
In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:
- Fully trained Flexographic Printer
- 5+ years Operations / Flexographic Print
- Knowledge of inks and plate mounting
- Experience of Team Leadership
- Problem solving knowledge / experience.
- Excellent time keeping skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Approachable / reliable
- Able to communicate effectively to all levels of employees
- Good team player
- Able to perform well under pressure with a can do attitude
- IOSH or similar operational safety qualification (desirable not essential.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement techniques an advantage
- Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting also an advantage
- Fluent English – ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and understand both written and verbal work instructions
Print roles operate across the following shift patterns:
Printers operating the F&K machine, they will work a 12 hour shift pattern, spread over a rotating 4 week cycle. This will typically be:
Week 1 – 4 nights, 3 off
Week 2 – 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights
Week 3 – 3 off, 4 days
Week 4 – 7 off
A reasonable level of fitness is required as the role involves some physical activity e.g. lifting & bending.
