**The Team:**
Managing private equity funds is an important component of Neuberger Berman's business strategy. Neuberger Berman is a leading and growing investor in private markets, managing c. $35 billion of client commitments in active vehicles as of December 31, 2024. **The Role:**
The successful candidate will support the team in the due diligence analysis of co-investments in single portfolio companies as well as primary fund investments:
+ Co-Investments: Invests directly into attractive deals alongside premier private equity firms in their core areas of expertise. Focuses on building high-quality, diversified portfolios of strategic co- investments primarily in buyouts and growth financings on a global basis and across multiple industries.
+ Primary Fund Investments: Makes primary commitments to premier private equity funds. Creates diversified portfolios of private equity funds on a global basis and within multiple asset classes, including buyout, growth equity, venture capital and distressed / special situation investments.
We are seeking a driven individual with two years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity, who can add value across a broad range of private equity investing activities. **Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Play a key role in analyzing and assessing a broad spectrum of companies across various industries to identify compelling investment opportunities.

**Qualifications Needed:**
+ Two years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or Private Equity.
+ Exceptional academic credentials; a degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

As a PE Ops Associate, you will have the ability to add value across multiple clients within the FAIR team, enabling you to gain a deep perspective and awareness of the wider industry. You will be in charge of leading client engagements, reviewing FAIR reports, and conducting financial analysis. You will gain a rich knowledge of the alternative investment market as you create and review reports over the fees charged to our clients in multiple different alternative investments and lead conversations with our clients over their fee structures.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
**Reporting and Analysis**
+ Create and review detailed reports over management fees, partnership expenses, and carried interest for a variety of alternative investments, including private equity, real estate, private debt, and hedge funds
+ Ensure consistent methodologies around data extraction, fee recalculation, and report creation is applied to all reports
+ Identify inconsistencies or large variances and collaborate with our global team and external stakeholders to resolve them

**Client Management**

+ Breakdown and explain complex fund terms, especially those relating to carried interest and management fees
+ Collaborate with our global team to create best in industry client experience
+ Create detailed presentation materials and present FAIR findings to clients on a quarterly basis
+ Communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively to both clients and internal teams
+ Conduct regular client meetings in which you present detailed status reports and review progress of the overall deliverables
**Key requirement for this role:**
**Reporting and Analysis**
+ Minimum 4 years of experience in fund accounting, investment management, external audit, or another private equity-adjacent role from a reputed organisation
+ Excellent understanding of financial statements including notes to financial statements, capital account statements, cash flow notices, ILPA templates, and other information regularly published by General Partners
+ General understanding of limited partnership agreements, private equity fund structures, and associated fees
+ Meticulous attention to detail in creating and reviewing reports
+ Demonstrates ownership, self-motivated to meet KPIs and delivers quality reports
+ Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required including the ability to work with complex functionalities (Formulas, pivot tables, ability to run existing macros)

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage end-to-end searches across front-office mandates (M&A, Private Equity, Credit, ESG, or related verticals) current desks hiring are PE and Credit
  • Initially work closely with the high performing team on exclusive live roles to immerse yourself in the sector and learn the vertical nuances ahead of progressing to client side work
  • Leverage the brilliant existing network of the business to build a personal network across the UK, European and UAE market
  • Conduct detailed market mapping and proactive candidate engagement
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through lead generation, in client networking and cold outreach
  • Advise senior stakeholders on hiring strategies and market trends through your research and mapping
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to the wider team strategy
  • Attend in person candidate and client meetings alone, and shadowing senior staff to support ‘learning in the field’
  • Maintain an open passive candidate network to allow pace and agility to fill exclusive roles


Ideal Profile:


  • Proven experience in recruitment or executive search, ideally within financial services, previous vertical is flexible due to in house training provided.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to engage senior professionals
  • Polished, confident, conscientious and collaborative.
