The Product Development Engineer, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, will be expected to act as the technical expert for key product lines, driving product improvements, supporting customers, and ensuring products remain compliant with industry and safety standards. Key skills & experience:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in product development within electronics, embedded systems, or engineering environments.
- Knowledge of electronic hardware design and system integration.
- Experience supporting IP-based CCTV, video, or networked electronic systems.
- Understanding of communication protocols including Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232, and RS485.
- Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working across the full product lifecycle would be advantageous.

Within the Land Ceptor Physical Domain team you will support the future product development to ensure that Land Ceptor maintains its relevance and continues to meet the changing needs of customers, both UK and Export.
Reporting to Head of Equipment; Product Line (Land Ceptor) you will undertake a mix of activities in support of developing the Land Ceptor Physical Product, to take the existing physical design solution and determine how best to evolve it to meet existing and future customers' requirements in the medium (2-4 years) and long term. As a key part of the Metasphere Product Software team, you'll create impact by Delivering robust, well-documented telemetry solutions that empower a global customer base to gain real-time insights from their connected systems.
Your main responsibilities include:
+ Take ownership of your tasks and deliver across the full product lifecycle for telemetry server applications: design, development, documentation, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance
+ Investigate and resolve complex system issues in SaaS telemetry environments, following through from diagnosis to resolution
+ Contribute to stable, operationally reliable SaaS environments including server administration and infrastructure improvements
+ Provide clear, technically sound support to the operations team and customers through ticketing and direct investigation
+ Integrate partner technologies into end-to-end telemetry solutions and facilitate product transfer across the value chain

**What makes you a great fit**
