Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for a Production Support Operative on a permanent basis for our client based in Telford. This would be ideal for a candidate that has a level 2 engineering qualification and has mechanical assembly experience.

Hours

Monday - Thursday - 8:30am - 5:15pm

Friday - 8:30am - 2pm

Pay

£27,500 - £28,500 per annum dependent on experience

Description and key responsibilities as a Production Support Operative:

  • Fork Lift driving
  • Assembly, preparation and packing, to support service spares
  • Administration tasks
  • Measurement operative – support production
  • Re-sell support – quality checks on pre-manufactured gauging and machinery
  • General labouring and support to electro-mechanic fitters as required
  • Housekeeping – Maintain and Continuous Improvement

Qualifications and skill required as a Production Support Operative:

  • Be well organised and take a proactive approach to tasks
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to use hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers and drills is a requirement
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems AC or DC is advantageous (training can be provided) 
  • Min 4 GCSE A-D or Level 2 Engineering qualification or

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. We design, manufacture and support military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.

The individual in this role will be responsible for the grit blast, surface preparation and masking etc prior to liner plates and surface treatments being applied

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with surface preparation before paint and liner application to military vehicles and components, following all relevant work instructions, quality standards and SHE requirements.
  • Undertake a wide range of bonding/ painting preparation i.e. masking, abrading, sanding and cleaning.
  • Will be required to carry out grit blasting tasks. (Training will be provided).
  • Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety & Environmental Policy requirements, and take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working area in accordance with 5S requirements, whilst adhering to a specified production schedule.
  • As required, support the Logistics team to complete the movement, delivery, and inspection of parts and consumables.
  • Adhere to the companies code of conduct.
  • Other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined by your manager from time to time.
