Main Purpose and Context of the Job

  • To control all aspects of the line production to deliver 100% service in quality and meals. Responsible for the Health and Safety of staff members on their line.

Main Responsibilities

The efficient running of the meal assembly production line

Ensuring that all targets are met, and specifications and procedures are followed.

Ensuring minimum line downtime is achieved through adopting a proactive approach.

Key activities:

Health and Safety procedures and checks are carried out to maintain a safe workplace for everyone.

Ensure all product leaving the production lines meets the agreed customer specification (CCP)

To control and organize labor on the line, ensuring all procedures are followed

To manage the production lines at all times to achieve plan, in full and on time

Ensure correct materials are brought to line at correct time and used in the correct quantity

Assist with stock rotation and control and product labelling systems

Keep lines clean and tidy to comply with best G.M.P. practice

Key Result Areas:

To monitor material usage ensuring no under or overweight finished product

Ensure that the agreed labor and strike rate targets are being achieved

Promote a working environment charged with enthusiasm

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform all start-up checks for the line.
  • Coordinate with ODS, Chiller, and Machine Operator regarding job priorities and updates.
  • Prepare and set up the line efficiently, ensuring all materials like packaging and labels are ready and checked by QC.
  • Train packers, maintain line hygiene, and provide necessary job instructions to all staff on the line.
  • Complete all paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Continually monitor updates on the minus sheet.
  • Order additional fruit and packaging as needed, ensuring QC checks before use.
  • Ensure all packaging is removed from the line at the end of each job, returned to the packaging department, and the line is cleaned.
  • Update the job status on the minus sheet as per SOP and report to the Packhouse Manager upon completion of all orders.
