Welding Production Technician required to join a precision aerospace production team to work in a cleanroom environment on the assembly, integration and testing of aerospace devices.
Our international Aerospace and Defence client is going through a continued period of expansion and looking for Precision Mechanical Assembly Technicians. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Mechanical fitter experience ideally through apprenticeship with exposure to and of the following: non return valves, flow control valves, solenoid valves, cold gas thrusters or any fluidic components for the space industry.
Training and skills development will be provided, extended working hours may be required to meet production targets.
Responsibilities
Precision assembly and test activities in a Class 8 clean room.
Testing the integrity of assembled systems using high pressure gases and leak detection equipment such as helium mass spectrometers.
Cleaning components in preparation for assembly and test activities using automatic particle counting equipment and patch sample counting techniques.
Electrical testing
Gas flow testing of valves, thrusters and fluidic components to ensure components are within
tolerance prior to assembly.
Digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, high voltage dielectric and insulation
resistance test equipment.
Material joining processes including manual TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, orbital welding, and compiling weld inspection reports on parts and test pieces.

Job Description
Great opportunity of starting within an engineering business, on production welding, to then gain more experience and develop. The starting salary wil increase with the development of the successful candidate. As the role is busy, there will be ample overtime during the week and weekends, if wanted.
The right candidate will need to have experience mainly with TIG welding and working with stainless steel and carbon.
Pipe welding experience and workin with small diameters up to 40 mm would be ideal.
As this is quite a repetitive work environment, you will need to feel comfortable with this ona daily basis, and with accuracy and neatness. Experience of welding dissimilar metals would also be useful.
Daily hours, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm MOnday to Thursday and Friday till 1pm, with the opportunity of as much overtime a required.

Key Responsibilities
TIG Welding & Finishing
- Carry out precision TIG welding on stainless steel components to exact specifications.
- Perform grinding, polishing, and finishing of welded parts to achieve the required surface quality.
- Ensure all welded joints are visually and dimensionally accurate, free from defects.
- Work from technical drawings to produce components that meet customer and company requirements.
Quality Control
- Check and measure finished components at required inspection frequencies.
- Identify, label, and record both approved and rejected parts in line with ISO9001 Quality Standards.
- Maintain consistency in weld quality, finish, and polish across all components produced.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean and organised working area, including polishing stations and equipment.
- Adhere to all C.O.S.H.H. regulations and company health & safety requirements.
- Wear and correctly use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report any faults, defects, or safety concerns to the Facilitator immediately.
Efficiency & Communication
- Record completed work on booking sheets as instructed by management.

- Proven experience in TIG welding stainless steel components.
- Skilled in polishing, grinding, and finishing stainless steel to a high cosmetic standard.

Desirable
