Duties:
To operate and maintain machinery used in the manufacture of the high end food processing and packaging. Always ensuring a high stand in health & safety and hygiene standards.

Job Purpose
Assisting the Production Team Leader in the safe and efficient running of the plant, you will undertake technical and operational duties, which include plant monitoring and maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability and performance.
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have experience within the energy sector, however they will be open to discussions from candidates with a plant/production background and have some experience with mechanical and/or electrical knowledge; along with fault finding capabilities.
This role is based on a shift pattern to cover a 24-hour operation.
Salary and Hours
- Starting from £32,000 per annum but may be negotiable for the right skills.

Key Responsibilities
- To carry out operational routines and inspections.
- Operate plant and equipment in accordance with operational procedures.
- Carry out 'frontline' maintenance activities in accordance with the approved processes and procedures.

- To complete pre-start checks, commissioning and de-commissioning activities.
- Ensure accurate and concise shift handovers.
- Support the Production Team Leader in preparation of safety documents.
- Work as an integral part of the shift team ensuring the safe and effective operations of the plant.
- To ensure safe working practices and procedures are adhered to.
- Assist and cover duties within the fuel and ash team.
Candidate Attributes
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge, preferably from the power/energy sector, but not essential.
- Experience in maintenance and fault finding.
- Willingness to learn and progress.
- Physically fit, as you will be on your fit for long periods of time.
- Degree or similar in engineering, preferred.

Our client within the Littleborough area is looking to recruit an experienced Machine Operative on an an ongoing temporary basis with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.The Successful candidate will be fully trained on all workstations within the company.

This position is responsible for carrying out all activities necessary to ensure the safe loading, sorting and unloading of scrap metal. You will also organise material to ensure good standards of housekeeping are met. Working in our Exeter site, the successful candidate will be part of team working under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager.
Key Machine Operator Responsibilities
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper manner
- Safely stockpile various grades of scrap metal, and assist with the loading and unloading of ships
- Ensure materials are stored in accordance with company policy
- Ensure daily checks are completed
- Attend any training courses that the company proposes
- Co-ordinate with other operatives to ensure the correct processing of all loads
- Carry out final inspection of dispatched scrap materials
- Process material to conform with grade specifications as directed by Site Supervisor
- Assist in the scheduling of inward and outward transport
- Liaise with customers, drivers and contractors who visit the site
- Ensure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times
- Able to work flexible working hours to include occasional evenings and weekends to facilitate loading

The work you will be doing is considered ‘high mix, low volume’ therefore there are several changeovers within a day setting the machines for different jobs. And I am looking for Machine Operators to be good problem solvers and willing to work autonomously.
