**Opportunities in CTO**

**Release On Demand** allows engineering teams to deploy code to production frequently, whilst making it easy to follow best practices in our highly regulated industry. The 3-year-old platform used by 1,000s of engineer's bank-wide, is projected to deliver $50 million in savings this year alone. The platform needs to continue its huge success by continuing to scale and provide more opportunities for developer productivity
**SDLC Automation** is a greenfield project that builds on the success we've had in automating the SDLC and takes it further. This blue-sky project looks at ways we can greatly improve the SDLC process at Citi, taking ideas like grading engineering teams and rewarding those who follow best practices, perhaps moving them from manual approval process to an automatic one. The use of Artificial Intelligence is highly likely.
**Dev hub** is the Engineers homepage where engineers can see all of parts of the SDLC, such as code reviews, JIRAS and deployments, all tied together into single workflow. The next-generation greenfield Developer Experience (DevEx) platform aims to save days of engineering time per engineer per year at one of the largest engineering organisations in the world. The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer in Tech Foundation focusing on developer productivity, you’ll identify, develop, and drive improvements that boost the velocity and quality of our product teams, while enhancing the overall developer experience at Multiverse. You will have the autonomy to drive impact, ownership and innovation.

Our team builds the foundational systems engineers rely on to develop stable, scalable, and efficient services. We provide standardised infrastructure and platforms that enable teams to move fast while maintaining the flexibility to innovate.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a passion for improving developer experience, the ability to learn quickly, and a collaborative mindset. You will help shape internal workflows and infrastructure, identifying bottlenecks and designing scalable solutions. Your work will reduce friction, integrate AI-powered tools, and make development at Multiverse faster, more reliable, and more enjoyable.

What We Value

Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems. We welcome a variety of backgrounds and technology stacks.nStrong software engineering skills, with coding experience in one or more languages. Our environment includes Python, Typescript, Elixir. Even if you have not worked with these would still love to chat.nOwnership of your own testing and QA, as well as deploymentnExperience with at least one major cloud provider. We predominantly use AWS.nExperience in observability and monitoring practices.nEmpathy for developer workflows and productivity.nUsing data-driven insights to set priorities and measure impact.nClear written and verbal communication skills.nInterest or experience in applying AI to improve developer productivity.

How You’ll Contribute

As a Senior Software Engineer in Tech Foundation, you’ll combine software engineering practices with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and observability to deliver solutions ranging from infrastructure abstraction to core services used across the company. You’ll work with a supportive team of engineers who value collaboration and continuous learning, making a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.

Enabling the team to ensure the availability and performance of critical services, building automation to prevent recurrence of issues.nImprove system scalability, observability, and security to ensure platform stability.nDefine and promote standard practices for building, operating, and observing services.nBuild tooling to improve our platform and accelerate software development.nIdentify pain points in engineering workflows and design both immediate fixes and long-term improvements.nExperiment with AI-powered automation to enhance how engineers write, test, and deploy code.nCollaborate with teams across Tech to solve technical challenges and design new systems.nYou align closely with our values and can share examples of how you have demonstrated them.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer to join our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing engineering design and support functions, and to be responsible for small projects or subsections of larger software projects.

Must have own transport or live locally due to location of site.

Candidates looking to work a 4 day week may also be considered (salary will be pro-rata).

Duties  - Software Engineer

  • Develop and maintain applications using languages C, C++ and C#
  • li>Provide design input on projects and generation of ideas for developments and new products
  • Be responsible for small projects, sub-sections of larger projects or large projects.
  • Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Other activities as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Duties - Senior Software Engineer

  • Provide planning and supervision of software engineers, tasks and support functions; taking the technical lead on software design projects
  • Planning of jobs, projects and support issues.
  • Use of GANT charts for planning.
  • Producing timescale estimates for jobs.
  • Write and check vehicle/project specifications.
  • Provide design input on projects and generation of ideas for developments and new products
  • Instruct, train and mentor subordinate engineering staff.

Experience

  • Proven experience in software development in an engineering design environment with a strong portfolio of completed projects. 3 years minimum for Software Engineer and 10 years minimum for Senior Software Engineer.
  • High level language programming in C, C++ and C#.
  • Real time programming.
  • Multi-threaded and multi-process programming.
  • Development and design of InTouch display systems.
  • Development and design of HMI and GUI systems.
  • Completing and checking designs and documentation.
