In this role, you will plan and coordinate Propulsion System test work across prototype vehicle builds and system test rigs. Working closely with Vehicle Engineering, Prototype Build Operations, Test & Development and Commodity Engineering teams, you will use your knowledge of electrified propulsion technology to drive the correct development work and influence build schedules, ensuring customers can conduct their intended test activities with hardware and software that is fit for purpose.
What You Will Do:
As the primary point of contact for Propulsion system test activities, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying and driving resolution of emerging technical risks and issues which could prevent system or vehicle test work from completing on time or to quality
- Communicating clearly with stakeholders to ensure you understand their requirements and our stakeholders have an accurate status and prognosis at all times. It is expected that achieving this will utilise Agile structures, such as Daily Standups, Group Sync or Scrum of Scrums meetings and showcases.
- Run succinct daily standups with vehicle and rig users to ensure planned test work can be conducted, identifying Obstacles to upcoming work in sufficient time to resolve before they impact critical activities.
- Collaboratively identify, collate and manage issues to ensure prioritised resolution activities (either interim or permanent) are clear, with an empowered owner and expected completion date for each issue, aligned with customer teams.
- Use the in-depth knowledge of hardware and software capability for Propulsion system components, developed in-role, to derive and influence medium- and long-term Development Validation plan.
What Will You Bring:
- Basic knowledge of the key components constituting an electrified Propulsion System and their primary functions, such as High Voltage (HV) batteries, power electronics and electric drive units.
- A basic understanding of vehicle networks, software development and calibration activities.
- An understanding of the generic steps in a New Product Introduction / Product Development process.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of PCDS and Programme Gateways.
- Knowledge of Agile Ceremonies and the role of a Scrum Master.
- Experience of commodity delivery, software delivery, programme management, risk management or structured problem-solving processes and methods. Some examples may be qualifications like PRINCE2, PMP, APMP / ChPP, AgilePM, Six Sigma or similar
- Experience with Project Management or Agile toolsets, such as JIRA, Confluence, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar
