**The Role**
We are seeking a proactive, creative, and tenacious Named Account Manager to drive new cyber security business across Public Sector organisations in the UK. This role will demand interaction with large scale enterprises at the 'C' level, as well as with technical staff within the security and IT organisation.
You will manage a portfolio of Public Sector accounts, encompassing a mix of white-space and existing customers. Selling the full Proofpoint Platform, while leveraging all internal resources and our ecosystem of partners to enable continued growth of your account portfolio. In this role you will be able to expand the Proofpoint footprint, ensuring your customers are effectively protected from advanced threats and targeted attacks by our award-winning technology.
**Your day-to-day**
+ Establish strong business relationships at the executive level within Public Sector accounts above 2,500 users (cross-vertical focus)
+ Focus on both penetrating new accounts as well as expanding our presence with existing customers by introducing them to all our security, compliance and information protection platform.
+ Articulate and promote the company's value proposition and services to become a trusted advisor within your customer base
+ Work with internal resources, including aligned System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plans.
+ Collaborate with Systems Engineers to organise and deliver compelling and flawless product demonstrations
+ Partner with the channel ecosystem to gain access into new accounts
+ Deliver operational excellence, to include forecast accuracy and pipeline generation progression

Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager – Public Sector to join our growing team in London. This mid-to-senior-level role focuses on expanding Deskpro’s footprint within UK government agencies, including central, regional, and local entities. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in public sector sales to drive growth through a mix of hunting for new opportunities and farming existing accounts. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this role is pivotal in strengthening our presence in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities to sell Deskpro’s helpdesk software to UK government agencies, leveraging a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes.
- Account Management: Nurture and expand relationships with existing public sector customers, ensuring retention and uncovering opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Strategic Selling: Develop tailored sales strategies that address the unique challenges of government agencies, aligning Deskpro’s solutions to meet their operational and compliance requirements.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Utilise an existing network of contacts within the UK public sector to open doors, build trust, and accelerate the sales cycle.
- Tender Management: Manage the end-to-end process for responding to RFPs, RFQs, and ITT documents, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and technical teams to align on go-to-market strategies and ensure that Deskpro’s offerings remain competitive in the public sector market.
- Performance Reporting: Track sales performance and pipeline metrics, providing regular updates and forecasts to senior management.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven success in a business development or sales role with at least 5+ years of experience selling SaaS or technology solutions to UK government agencies.
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks, such as G-Cloud or other Crown Commercial Service frameworks.
- Existing network of contacts within UK government agencies (local, regional, or central) is highly desirable.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, with the ability to balance hunting for new business with nurturing existing relationships.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex sales cycles and influence decision-makers.
- Experience with CRM tools and sales pipeline management (e.g., Salesforce or similar).

This highly successful, building supplies company is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Account Manager / Sales Professional . This is a new division being set up within the Public Sector and Housing Associations with an experienced and succesful managment team in place it's a great time to join and be part of the project.
With a network of branches our client supplies a range of building products to the construction sector, the trade and the retail sector.
This position requires someone who is really confident talking to people, understanding their needs and acting on this to provide sterling service to the customer. Attention to detail is also key. Quoting on large projects will be a key part of this role and at times you will deal with some high-end decision makers so you should be confident in that respect. You will also have a close relationship with the branches in the area to ensure an efficeient and smooth operation.
