The Role – Be the Architect of Our Mental Health Division

Core Responsibilities

Requirements

RMN with valid NMC pin. • 3+ years in a leadership role within mental health care. • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks. • Experience in managing staff and building services. • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle. • Must have easy access to Barnet, Haringey, and Havering.

Desirable Extras

• Experience in supported living. • Familiar with NHS frameworks and tendered contracts. • Trained in trauma-informed care, PACE, or DBT.

As an Occupational Health & Welfare Services Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of the Occupational Health department. Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering Exceptional Service:

  • Provide confidential guidance to internal and external clients through face-to-face interactions, team calls, and emails, ensuring medical confidentiality is always upheld.

Record Management:

  • Accurately record client information into the Occupational Health computer system, ensuring timely updates and compliance with relevant policies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, fostering productive relationships and addressing issues proactively.

Applicant Processing:

  • Monitor and manage the medical recruitment system for internal and external applicants, ensuring timely medical clearance and communication.

Appointment Coordination:

  • Administer the Occupational Health Management Referral process, facilitating efficient appointment scheduling and providing clients with necessary instructions.

Diary Management:

  • organise appointments and meetings for the clinical team and Welfare Officers based on clinical and welfare needs.

Report Preparation:

  • Support OH Physicians by preparing clinical paperwork and sending reports to clients and line managers.

Administration Support:

  • Assist with Ill Health Retirement, Injury on Duty, and Deferred Pension applications, liaising with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely information flow.

Screening Oversight:

  • Manage the recall process for Mandatory Psychological Screening, ensuring all relevant questionnaires are distributed and clients are informed of appointments.

System Administration:

  • Act as the systems administrator for the Occupational Health IT system, providing statistical performance data and training new staff.

Strong Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff, clients, and senior managers.

Organisational Prowess:

  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and maintain accurate records.

Confidentiality Awareness:

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to GDPR and medical confidentiality regulations.

Relevant Experience:

  • Recent office administration experience, ideally within a medical or public service environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn new systems.

Essential Criteria

  • Good standard of education with GCSEs (Grade 9-1/A-C) or equivalent in English & Maths.

WSP have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Public Health Engineer, in our London. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the world. Although a multi-disciplinary consultancy the WSP MEP team are a tight knit group, working closely to deliver some of the largest and most complex buildings in the UK and Europe.

+ Responsible for the delivery of Public Health and Fire Suppression systems designs at all RIBA Stages on projects
+ Supervising the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
+ Considering the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
+ Taking responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
+ Taking responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
+ Regularly briefing the project team, explaining the appointment. Ensure contracts / letters of intent are in place for all projects before work begins. Make sure all team members have access to the agreed appointment documents.
+ Reviewing the detailed design programme and ensure that sufficient resource is available to complete the works.
+ Leading the completion and regular amendment to the project 'Cost to Complete' (CTC). Monitor the work of the project engineers and compare weekly against the previously agreed CTC. Flag up any potential 'profit' or 'loss' to your DTL when compared to the agreed fee.

**A little more about your role.**
+ As a senior public health engineer you will be taking a key role in the delivery of a range of our most prestigious projects.
+ The Basingstoke, Guildford and Heathrow offices are heavily involved in mission critical facilities associated with aviation, healthcare and defence sectors
+ We will be looking to you to not only be a client facing representative of WSP, but also take a lead public health engineering delivery role providing innovative and sustainable solutions.

**Your Team**
+ Our team is comprised of 40 engineers working across the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health specialisms
+ Our team is split across our Brighton, Southampton, Basingstoke, Guildford and Heathrow sites giving the flexibility or work in either location on any given day. Many of our team choose to alternate the office they work in to suit personal and client needs.
+ As part of our team, you would be working on some of our major projects including Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, Royal Berkshire Hospital and several public and private sector client sites.
+ You will be reporting to our Associate Director for Public Health Engineering, Mark Lundie.
+ You will be able to utilise graduate and assistant engineers in supporting roles around you, as well as dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists to contribute to your projects.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Have the ability to work as part of a team, but also take a role in managing junior engineers towards the delivery of our key projects.
+ Be able to apply technical judgment and resourcefulness to feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, as well as construction support phases of projects
+ Able to represent WSP to our clients, whilst also understanding and delivering client needs in engineering solutions.
+ Have a working knowledge of UK public health building services design, including relevant standards, codes and regulations.
+ Be able to manage the technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
