The Role – Be the Architect of Our Mental Health Division

This is a senior leadership role with clinical teeth. As Head of Mental Health Services, you’ll run the mental health arm of our supported living service like your own specialist unit. Every referral, every plan, every staff rota, every budget—you’ll own it. You won’t just change lives. You’ll shape the whole service.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments and create person-centred, trauma-informed care plans. • Lead safeguarding, clinical governance, and risk management. • Manage mental health-specific referrals and relationships with commissioners. • Recruit, supervise, and develop your mental health staff team. • Conduct regular spot checks, supervisions, and appraisals. • Manage department budgets and track KPIs. • Lead on staff rotas and ensure safe, effective coverage. • Ensure compliance with CQC, PAMMS, MCA, DoLS.

Requirements

RMN with valid NMC pin. • 3+ years in a leadership role within mental health care. • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks. • Experience in managing staff and building services. • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle. • Must have easy access to Barnet, Haringey, and Havering.

Desirable Extras

• Experience in supported living. • Familiar with NHS frameworks and tendered contracts. • Trained in trauma-informed care, PACE, or DBT.

Record Management:

WSP have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Public Health Engineer, in our London. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the world. WSP are currently involved in numerous projects which will reshape the landscape and skyline of London. Although a multi-disciplinary consultancy the WSP MEP team are a tight knit group, working closely to deliver some of the largest and most complex buildings in the UK and Europe.

+ Responsible for the delivery of Public Health and Fire Suppression systems designs at all RIBA Stages on projects
+ Supervising the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
+ Considering the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
+ Taking responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
+ Taking responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
+ Regularly briefing the project team, explaining the appointment. Ensure contracts / letters of intent are in place for all projects before work begins. Make sure all team members have access to the agreed appointment documents.
+ Reviewing the detailed design programme and ensure that sufficient resource is available to complete the works.
+ Leading the completion and regular amendment to the project 'Cost to Complete' (CTC). Monitor the work of the project engineers and compare weekly against the previously agreed CTC. Flag up any potential 'profit' or 'loss' to your DTL when compared to the agreed fee.

+ As a senior public health engineer you will be taking a key role in the delivery of a range of our most prestigious projects.
+ The Basingstoke, Guildford and Heathrow offices are heavily involved in mission critical facilities associated with aviation, healthcare and defence sectors

**Your Team**
+ Our team is comprised of 40 engineers working across the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health specialisms
+ Our team is split across our Brighton, Southampton, Basingstoke, Guildford and Heathrow sites giving the flexibility or work in either location on any given day. Many of our team choose to alternate the office they work in to suit personal and client needs.
+ As part of our team, you would be working on some of our major projects including Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, Royal Berkshire Hospital and several public and private sector client sites.
+ You will be reporting to our Associate Director for Public Health Engineering, Mark Lundie.
+ You will be able to utilise graduate and assistant engineers in supporting roles around you, as well as dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists to contribute to your projects.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Have the ability to work as part of a team, but also take a role in managing junior engineers towards the delivery of our key projects.
+ Be able to apply technical judgment and resourcefulness to feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, as well as construction support phases of projects
+ Able to represent WSP to our clients, whilst also understanding and delivering client needs in engineering solutions.
+ Have a working knowledge of UK public health building services design, including relevant standards, codes and regulations.
+ Be able to manage the technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
