QAQC Lead – Commercial – Central London
Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in ‘technology’ schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects.
Due to continued growth, our client is now seeking an experienced QAQC Lead to join their team based on a Commercial build in Central London.
Responsibilities
Develop and Enforce MEP Quality Procedures:
Create, implement, and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation for mechanical or electrical systems in accordance with construction drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.
Conduct Site Inspections and Surveillance:
Carry out regular inspections of MEP installations throughout the construction phase to verify compliance with approved designs, ensuring high workmanship standards and flagging any deviations or quality concerns early.
Manage Non-Conformances and Corrective Actions:
Identify, log, and follow up on non-conformances (NCRs) related to MEP works. Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to close out issues efficiently and prevent recurrence.
Support System Commissioning and Handover:
Oversee quality control activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, ensuring all tests, certifications, and documentation are in place for successful system handover and client acceptance.
Interface with Site Teams and Stakeholders:
Collaborate with construction managers, project engineers, consultants, and the main contractor to align on quality standards and inspection protocols. Attend QA/QC and coordination meetings, providing input to ensure smooth progress of MEP works.
Requirements
Must have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades background
Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on Large-scale construction projects
Must have UK Passport or RTW in the UK
