This particular role is at our Bakkavor Meals London. Split across 3 factories and 1 distribution centre. The factories make chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products & savoury accompaniments and employs over 2,000 people.
About the role.
A fantastic opportunity for a QA Manager to join the Bakkavor Meals, London . You will be responsible for leading and motivating the Quality Assurance team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems. Your main accountabilities will include understanding and applying relevant standards so that Bakkavor, Customer and Legal requirements are achieved and maintained. This role is key to driving improved GMP Audits across the site.
Role Accountabilities
- Understand and apply relevant standards and codes of practice so that Bakkavr, Customer, BRC and legal requirements are achieved and maintained.
- To ensure that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained and achieved. Involvement in the evaluation of risks and defining controls, prior to the introduction of a new process, product or raw material.
- Understands, implements and reviews quality management systems associated with the production of food to the agreed safety and quality standards.
- Implement, maintain and review an audit system to ensure that critical procedures for product safety, legality and quality are in place and complied with. In addition review all internal findings, identify trends and implement appropriate preventative measures.
- Supports the Technical Manager & the business with management of audits, hosting audits as appropriate. Manages response & close out of non-conformance reports from audits as required.
- Effectively communicates with internal and external customers suppliers and production teams to ensure all the Technical needs of the business are met. Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence
- Manages the training & development requirements of the Technical team and ensures that direct reports are properly equipped to undertake their roles.
- Manage the QA team & is responsible for its activity. Recruit and retain the right calibre of people. Lead, motivate and inspire the Quality team in line with Bakkavr Values to achieve personal development, continuous improvement
- Generate technical business KPI information, communicate, trend and highlight issues. Develop and agree action plans and through Continuous Improvement drive the business forward.
- Provides practical support and drive to promote a Quality Assurance culture in the Business.
- Ensures that a safe working environment exists for all employees within the QA team and that as a minimum the standards set out in the H&S manual are met.
You will have previous experience within a similar Technical/QA Manager role within a food manufacturing environment. You will be a great people leader and have experience driving a quality culture. The Client On-Boarding team is part of the Client Management Services, which is situated within the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of MUFG Bank. However, this function acts as a centralized 1st line support team, providing support to Investment Banking and Corporate Banking in EMEA, Capital Markets and MUFG Securities both in London and in Amsterdam.
**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
This individual will be responsible for conducting Quality Control (QC) assessments across new on-boarding, Periodic Reviews and Event Driven Reviews u2013 including KYC and Regulatory Classifications. The Client On-Boarding Team covers a highly varied portfolio of Circa. 6,000 entities u2013 ranging from simple listed customers, to much more complex structures, entities and product offerings, as such it will be key for this individual to fully understand all customers and to assist the lead to design effective Quality Control program u2013 identifying and escalating risks appropriately.
This function is critical during both on-boarding and other reviews to ensure that the KYC process effectively mitigates the risks of Money Laundering, Bribery and Corruption, reputational and any other associate risks. With this in mind, the successful individual needs to have good experience within KYC, and a demonstrable strong knowledge of the AML/KYC environment.
Key stakeholders in this role are; Operational KYC counterparts, QA Counterparts, Financial Crime (2nd line of Defence), Front Office RM/Trader/Account Officers and Audit. Deliver training, where required, to front office representatives on KYC/On-Boarding procedural related aspects.
Deliver and support lean processes, to deliver effective and efficient KYC process.
Training and Development of more junior members of the team
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in relation to all AML On-Boarding aspects, assisting on ad-hoc queries where required.
Support the QC Lead, producing relevant reports to key counterparties, identifying and resolving Anti Money Laundering issues, and providing support/guidance to more junior members of the team.
Keep abreast of developments in current trends and progress on money laundering, bribery and corruption and it prevention.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
Essential:
At least 3 yearsu2019 experience in Anti Money Laundering, fraud and bribery or Financial Crime roles (ESSENTIAL)
Experience with Investment Banking & the On-Boarding of Corporate entities (Inc. Private Companies and SPVs) (ESSENTIAL)
Experience of managing a KYC team or function. (BENEFICIAL)

Awareness of UK & European Anti-Money Laundering regulations (ESSENTIAL)
Knowledge of various corporate structures (ESSENTIAL)

Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (particularly word & excel). (ESSENTIAL)

Degree Level or relevant industry experience (ESSENTIAL)
