Job Profile

Based in our London laboratories, we are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Laboratory Chemist to support all facets of our aerogel application development. You will work in the Application Development Department , supporting the R&D team on the development, optimization, and enhancement of integrated aerogel products. Your responsibilities will include:

Laboratory Operations

  • Prepare reagents and stock solutions
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and ordering of lab supplies
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment

Analytical Characterisation

  • Develop and operate analytical methods for the characterisation of integrated aerogel products
  • Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses using appropriate instrumentation

Data Management & Reporting

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join and lead our expanding Quality Control Department. This is a critical role at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every part we manufacture, assessable, or procure is built to win – and built to last.

As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will take ownership of the inspection process across key projects, components, and assemblies. Working with both in-house teams and external suppliers, you’ll ensure that quality is never compromised, from initial receipt through to final fitment on our competition cars.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Carry out detailed inspection of precision components using a variety of tools (CMM, manual gauges, micrometres, calipers etc).

  • Inspect complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and geometric tolerances (GD&T).

  • Approve or reject components based on strict motorsport quality standards.

  • Lead root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and contribute to quality documentation and traceability.

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues.

  • Support audits, supplier assessments, and first article inspections (FAI).

  • Providing feedback to internal Department Heads in respect of quality assurance outcomes.

  • Training and mentoring Junior Inspectors, sharing knowledge to ensure best practice for future development.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Proven experience in a senior or lead inspection role within motorsport, aerospace, or precision engineering.

  • Deep understanding of high-performance manufacturing standards and tolerances.

  • Hands-on experience with CMM (ideally both manual and programmable) and conventional inspection equipment.

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills.

  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving and implementing solutions with an analytical approach.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with carbon fibre, composite materials, and high-performance alloys.

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and digital quality tools.
