Role responsibilities of a Quality Engineer:
- Own and Manage the Audit Programme.
- Raising and managing supplier non conformances with the supplier, working with them to seek an acceptable resolution.
- Maintain Quality SharePoint site, including the control, development and management of business documents & processes within this.
- Generate a monthly Governance report for the business as required.
- Provide Quality reporting for external and internal performance.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects, promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement, deliver improvement projects utilising Lean and Six Sigma skills.
- Establish and maintain - the quality control training plan/competency matrix.
- Conduct and manage detailed 8D investigations for quality issues including root cause analysis, including implementation of permanent corrective actions, and lessons learned.
- Act as quality interface to the All Business Units and Business Areas to support and provide direction to resolve issues identified.
- Develop and manage a Quality control framework within all areas of product assembly and test. Ensure that Quality gates are defined, and met to ensure assembly standards are met.
- Develop a platform for documenting and managing issues with externally sourced parts relating to the ongoing projects within the business units.
- Own and manage the HSQE "management of change" (MOC) programme.
Skills required from a Quality Engineer:
- 8D Practitioner.
- Ability to look at problems from many perspectives to "think outside the box" and create and own innovative solutions.
- Active Green Belt/Working towards Black Belt.
- Auditing experience.
- MS Office and equivalent working skills.
- Minimum 5 years working experience (engineering preferred).
- 3-5 years technical engineering experience.
