Business Need / Purpose of Role:

Responsible for performing various inspection tasks within the Company under the instruction of the Inspection Team Leader whilst working with your colleagues in the inspection team to ensure conformance to Company standards, specifications, and drawings.

Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities

But not limited to:

    Primary Tasks

  • The ability to cover the inspection of products and processes relating to all aspects of quality control with the Company.
  • To ensure the conformance of products and processes to relevant specifications and standards and complete and maintain accurate documentation in a timely manner according to the Company requirements.
  • Timely Inspections
  • Dimensional Reports (where applicable)
  • To raise non-conformance reports where any items or processes do not conform to standards or specifications/drawings.
  • Using recognised quality control measuring techniques / equipment where manufacturing processes are tightly controlled to ensure the products meet agreed standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that good housekeeping is maintained within all areas.
  • To support the promotion of continuous improvement processes within the inspection team for the benefit of the Company (under the supervision of the Inspection Team Leader and / or UK QHSE Lead).
  • Ensure all quality control measuring equipment is in calibration when used.
  • Provide status updates if / when required efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Perform any other duty as reasonably requested by the Inspection Lead and / or UK QHSE Lead to ensure the objectives of Inspection Team and the expectations of the customer are met.

  • Fully experienced in reading and understanding Engineering drawings (component and assembly).

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect components dimensionally and visually based on drawings and datasheets in line with current processes and procedures
  • Review and report on product quality non-conformance reports (NCRs) and system failures to drive continuous improvements and reduce failure costs
  • Verify that equipment manufactured, assembled, tested within the facility conforms to applicable specifications and agreed customer requirements
  • Carry out Non-Destructive Tests on Welds, Structures and Materials (MPI, LPI, DPT, UT)
  • Material testing (Hardness, PMI)
  • Produce clear and concise test reports
  • Maintaining NDE Equipment
  • Maintain quality relationships with key functions of the company, including fulfilment, engineering, projects and procurement
  • Support development and maintenance of the local Quality Management System
  • Compliance with project HSSE Plan, Quality Plan and related requirements
  • Review/Approve or reject all supplier documents in ERP system
  • Inspect consumable components (Verification, dimensional, etc) in accordance with standard part requirements and drawings
  • Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials and/or products, customer property
  • Support the warehouse on traceability issues
  • Assist in the calibration team in doing in-house calibration and verification of outsourced calibration activities
  • Manage efforts to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) by implementing effective solutions in collaboration with relevant teams
  • Provide CWI support when required for all the welding-related activities on site. (CSWIP would be advantageous)
  • Support global quality standards, objectives, and goals.
Qualifications and Training

  • NDE Level II
  • CWI or CSWIP would be advantageous (or ability to achieve)
  • ISO 9001 or API Q1 certification would be advantageous
  • Counterbalance Forklift certificate (B1)
  • Experience in the usage of gauges, such as calipers micrometers and hardness testers to measure and inspect products (metric and imperial)
  • Experienced in manufacturing quality, quality control, quality assurance


Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Have knowledge of packaging manufacturing operations
