We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Supervisor (QA) to join the Technical (Food Safety & Quality) Department. This role is working Sunday to Thursday on a shift pattern of 21:30 to 05:30.
The purpose of this role is to:
- To undertake all checks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as defined on the QMS testing schedule in an accurate and timely manner
- Verification of production compliance throughout the established QMS & HACCP systems
- To effectively work and communicate with management team and production operatives to continuously improve standards
- To attend production taste panel
- To spend the 80% of the time per shift on the production area
- Hygiene inspection – where required
- Quality certificates and COA completion
- Product release
- Completion of Fabrication and Glass and hard plastic audits
- Completion of GMP audits
- Submission of laboratory samples
- Assistance in training and verification
- Calibration of key equipment
Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
- Minimum 2-year experience in a food manufacturing company
- Previous experience as a QA or similar role within the QA department
- A can-do attitude, enthusiastic and ability to encourage the others and work as a team player
- Be self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to take responsibilities and find appropriate solutions on food safety issues

+ Ensuring compliance with Ball group quality standards and procedures, regarding process checks, product checks, product release and any other quality matter.
+ Participating in regular operational and quality meetings to review and present quality performance and take action to reduce variation, implement improvement, support activities to ensure plant performance targets are met.
+ Deliver success by leading improvement (Six-Sigma/ DMAIC/ Quality Excellence) projects.

What you'll be doing
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off night blue shift
As QA Supervisor on the night shift you will lead a quality assurance QA team to verify that all materials including finished products are safe and conform to all relevant specification, legislation and customer requirements.
- Working closely with the Nights Production Manager to ensure the production of safe, legal food.
- Complete audits and key performance indicators and monitor the consistency of outputs across the team for compliance purposes
- Train the team to ensure that new process and procedures are adopted
- Building production team capability to improve communication and understanding of technical standards
- Investigating customer complaints or any non-conformance raised internal or externally to provide data which informs resolution
- Organise organoleptic panel to ensure consistent quality
- Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the Health Safety and Environment policy
- Managing the nights QA team, ensuring tasks are completed in line with schedules and trackers.
- Monitoring of micro results and initiating any investigations as required.
- Working closely with the hygiene team to ensure swabbing and hygiene audits are completed in line with schedules
What we're looking for
- Flexibility required to support hygiene audits
- Ideally educated to Higher National Diploma level and/or experience within a similar role in food manufacturing
- Experience of managing a team and leading people
- Holds a Level 2/3 food safety certification
- Basic knowledge of weight legislation and allergen awareness/ practical management of allergens

- Understanding of internal audit process and technical key performance indicators
