Execution & Validation
· Design, develop, and execute functional and UAT test cases to validate business requirements, including data validation (numbers, calculations, and results integrity).
· Verify integration and data flows between systems, ensuring downstream processes are not adversely affected by changes.
· Execute defect triage with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
· Perform quality assurance oversight on vendor-produced deliverables, including:
o Spot-checking test scripts for accuracy and completeness.
o Reviewing test evidence for adequacy and correctness.
o Assessing defect creation quality to ensure clear reproduction steps, correct severity classification, and traceability to requirements.
· Provide ongoing measurement and reporting of vendor performance against agreed KPIs/SLA metrics to the Head of Quality Management.
Collaboration & Communication
· Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of quality goals.
· Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues effectively, providing evidence-based recommendations for go/no-go decisions.
· Confidently challenge assumptions and influence decisions to ensure quality is never compromised.
Tools & Continuous Improvement
· Use automation and AI-assisted testing where appropriate to increase efficiency and accuracy.
· Continuously seek process improvements to optimise testing effectiveness and reduce defect leakage.
· Keep up to date with emerging tools and techniques to strengthen testing practices.
· Identify opportunities to enhance vendor testing processes, suggesting improvements that drive higher quality and efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 5+ years in software quality assurance, functional testing, or a related role with financial services experience (TA experience an advantage).
· Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, including boundary analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, and regression testing.
· Proficiency in creating clear, detailed, and traceable test plans, scripts, and reports.
· Solid understanding of SQL and ability to validate data in back-end systems.
· Experience working within agile/scrum teams, with the ability to contribute to sprint refinement and planning.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels.
· Adaptable and able to multi-task across multiple scrums.
· ISTQB certification (Foundation or higher) is advantageous.
