Our client are a recently formed Demolition & Enabling Works contractor They have a 3 year framework contract with a large retail company and one of the big entertainment PLCs that give them plenty of work. They're very busy in Central London at the moment.
As a forward-thinking organisation, we are seeking 2 x roles as a Senior QS and either an Assistant QS and QS level candidates to join the team and drive commercial delivery in the demolition and enabling works sectors. We are rapidly expanding our team so it's a great time to join the business.
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, need to have worked for a specialist contractor within London. Either a demolition, groundworks, enabling works, RC frame, etc type subcontractor
Primary duties include optimisation of margin on projects and protecting/mitigation of commercial risk, appointment and management of sub-contractors, client negotiation and management. You will support the project team as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree level in Quantity Surveying or a relevant commercial/construction subject.
- A member of or working towards an appropriate professional qualification/membership (RICS/CIOB).
Experience:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or commercial management
- Demolition, Enabling works, ground works, RC Frame experience
- Commercial management of £multi-million construction contracts,
- NEC contract knowledge.
Technical Proficiency: Can formulate, present and manage high-value contract variations and claims through to client agreement. Ability to negotiate and influence decisions. Can read, interpret and measure construction drawings. Understanding of contract law. Comfortable undertaking complex Excel and Word tasks.

You will establish the required processes, templates and tools, and agree the baseline for cost and schedule, whilst monitoring performance against it and incorporating the impacts of risk, opportunities and change in a controlled manner. In order to do this, you will: -
- Development of project cost control data structures to accurately track and control actual costs
- Establishing and setting the project control budget aligned with agreed baselines
- The tracking of actual costs both for internal and external expenditure against the cost controls structures
- The tracking and control of project accruals and commitments against set budget constraints
- The build of project forecast to include estimate to complete (ETC) and the development of the estimate at complete (EAC)
